The annoying man named Ken, who tells Larry foolish jokes at Lefty's bar, is a parody of Ken Williams, the CEO of Sierra On-Line and executive producer of the game.
The people at the disco are the game writer Al Lowe and others who participated in creating the game: William Skirvin, Roger Hardy, Barry T. Smith, Kevin Ray, Oliver Brelsford and Mike Larsen. The bouncer is named after Mike Pickhinke.
The city Lost Wages, in which the game takes place, is a pun on Las Vegas.
The game includes copy protection, in addition to the trivia test which is similar to the one in the original Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards (1987).
