Warning: Spoilers
Ever wonder how Beavis and Butt-head celebrate the holidays? Yeah, me neither, but what do you say we find out anyway? So for Part I of our yuletide laugh fest, we have "Huh Huh Humbug", starring Beavis. It begins Christmas Eve at Burger World where our heroes are working the graveyard shift. Butt-head is fast asleep and Beavis is cooking a dead rat. The manager comes to berate him and tells him screwing around will never get him anywhere. Beavis falls asleep and dreams that he is the manager of Burger World and McVicker is his lowly employee. McVicker asks if he can go home early to be with his family, and Butt-head asks the same, however Beavis reminds him that he has no family and decides to go home himself, forcing Butt-head and McVicker to stay and work all night. So our Mr. Scrooge goes home and settles in to watch that timeless Christmas classic, Ebeneezer Screw, with veteran actor Tiny Johnson. The festivities are interrupted when Butt-head, now a ghost, comes out of the TV. He's not sure why he's there or why he's some dead guy with cool chains, but he warns Beavis that he will see some ghosts or something. So Butt-head leaves and Beavis gets back to the porno, when suddenly the Ghost of Christmas Past (Anderson) comes in and shows Beavis Christmases past, involving he and Butt-head doing nothing but sitting on the couch. He tells him he's wasted his life, however it doesn't seem to phase Beavis in the least. Next, Mr. Van Driessen, playing the Ghost of Christmas Present arrives and shows Beavis via television the McVicker family. The patriarch managed to sneak out on his break and bring home a meager Christmas dinner of a cheeseburger and fries. Van Driessen explains that the family is poor and starving and urges Beavis to give McVicker a raise, but all he's fixated on is the fact that McVicker stole food and should be fired. Van Driessen leaves and in comes Mr. Buzzcut as The Ghost of Christmas Future, who shows Beavis his head stone that blatantly tells the world he never scored. As Beavis contemplates in mending his ways, he's awakened from his dream by Butt-head, who says it's his turn to sleep. Beavis tells him of his startling vision of the future and that it's pretty cool.

Part II "It's a Miserable Life", starring Butt-head. As you could probably tell, this is a take on It's a Wonderful Life, with Butt-head in the Jimmy Stewart role. Now, you remember how at the beginning of that movie all of George Bailey's friends were praying for him, wishing him well? Here, all of the residents of Highland are praying that the Almighty will kill Beavis and Butt-head. They blame those two for all of their problems. In response to this, the arc-angels send an inexperienced angel to do away with them. Meanwhile, Beavis and Butt-head are spending Christmas Eve looking for chicks, but there are none to be found. They go to a bridge and think it would be cool to jump, when suddenly Charlie appears. They don't believe he's their guardian angel, so to prove to them that he is and that the world would be better off without them, Charlie randomly selects Butt-head and shows him what the world would be like if he were never born. It turns out that without Butt-head, Highland is a happy place. But what became of Beavis? He's working in a soup kitchen with a very assertive Stewart. Even though Butt-head was apparently never born, he's still able to interact with the people for some reason. He tries taking Beavis with him, but the soup kitchen patrons beat him up and throw him out. After that, Butt-head goes back to the bridge and asks to have been born and stuff, so things are returned to normal, Charlie fails at his task, and the boys go home, having not learned a thing, except that although the world sucks, it would suck a lot more without them.

This was the first Beavis and Butt-head episode I remember watching. It seems to capture the spirit of the season, even if said spirit is lost in our protagonists. In between the episodes are some Christmas music videos, and a new segment called Letters to Santa Butt-head. In a mock-up sleigh with Beavis as his reindeer, Santa Butt-head reads letters that were supposedly sent in by real viewers, but read aloud by actors. The letters feature young people bitching about the holidays, bitching about their families, some chicks ask for Beavis, and some guys with funny names. In the end though, a chick asks for Beavis AND Butt-head, so hopefully their Christmas was merry. So fans of the show, this is definitely worth checking out. It really beats the 1994 Christmas special that only featured them watching music videos.

Beavis & Butt-Head's cool, must-see Christmas special
Michael_Pilkington25 December 2002
Beavis & Butt-Head spend their Christmas watching music videos, reading letters from viewers and making fun of two Christmas classics, "A Christmas Carol" and "It's a Wonderful Life."

In the first short, "Huh Huh Humbug," Beavis (literally) dreams of becoming a boss at Burger World where he makes Butt-Head and McVicker work late. He goes home and watches a pornographic video, but keeps getting interrupted by ghosts of Butt-Head, Tom Anderson, Van Driessen, and Mr. Buzzcut. Each one of them - except for Butt-Head - suggests that Beavis should clean up his act or else. Funny as hell!

The second short, "It's a Miserable Life," has a guardian angel who is assigned to look over Beavis and Butt-Head separate the two by showing how the world would be a better place without Butt-Head. As the angel shows Butt-Head around town, he insists that it is actually a lot better without him, but Butt-Head disagrees and says that it sucks. This short does not suck, but is not quite as good as the first.

This is not their first Christmas special. Mike Judge made one or two Christmas specials before, but they were much shorter. This one at 45 minutes is primarily geared towards fans of the two slackers or anyone who loathes Christmas or in need of a good laugh. The only thing that blows is the music videos. You might also find some humor in Beavis and Butt-head's responses to letters from viewers. This video belongs to your collection of other Christmas videos along with "Frosty the Snowman," and "Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer." Merry Christmas.

My evaluation: B+

Beavis and Butt-head Rule!!!!!
RAskapunk38728 July 2001
Funny as hell christmas special cartoon about two parodies of famous classic christmas tales, played out hilariously by Beavis and Butt-head, two slacker teenagers who have a love for pornography and their only long time goal is to "Score". The first one features Beavis playing the role of "Ebenezer Screw" lol, and he's an arrogant boss at burger world, who's visited by 3 ghosts (you know the story) played hilariously by Mr Vandriessen, Coach Buzzcutt, Tom Anderson, and Butt-head as Jacob Marley, trying to change the ways of Beavis. But it doesn't do too much until Coach Buzzcut shows Beavis his fate as the phrase "Here lies Beavis, he never Scored!" on his headstone. With jokes left and right and a lot of funny toilet humor, played terrifically by the 2 morons with jokes like "I'm gonna go home and unwrap my weiner!", nothing beats Beavis and Butt-head.

The second half of the video features the same two porn-freaks. This christmas parodie is about the ultimate slacker Butt-head, who doesn't do ANYTHING with his life, and it seems that he has a major influence on anyone he comes in contact with, especially Beavis. This Christmas though, things are about to change. Everyone in Highland is sick of Beavis and Butt-head, after all, they ruin everything for everybody from Stuart Stevenson, to Principal McVicker, and their prayers are heard by god, who dispatches their guardian angel who is fed up with trying to reach the two idiots and has completely given up after numerous signs he gives them to change their ways. On Christmas eve he confronts the two of them and tries to convince them to kill themselves so the world would be a better place, with numerous wisecracks and jokes as their response, Their guardian angel, named Charlie, takes Butt-Head to an alternate world, leaving Beavis behind, where he shows what it would be like if Butt-head was never born! But of course Butt-Head doesn't understand and makes a joke out of it putting it that it just plain "sucks" to Charlies every point. The alternate world Charlie takes him too is a world full of joy and happiness because of Butt-heads absence, and a hilarious view of Beavis without Butt-Head there. I believe this was the funniest of the two halves of Do Christmas. With phrases like "We Wish you a merry Bunghole" Beavis and Butt-Head Do Christmas is a must-see for the holiday season, or anytime. If you've never seen there show before, go out and see it right away!!!

A gem of Christmas parody, or something, huh-huh-huh-huh-huh
Quinoa198423 August 2003
The Beavis and Butt-Head Christmas special is in it's complete form here on DVD (except for two letters read by "Santa" Butt-head that appeared on TV but not here), and it's such an uproarious joy to revisit it time and time again, whatever the season may be. In it, our dear-old bung-holes Beavis and Butt-Head are thrown into two parodies, a little commentary by the yule-log, and read real letters as Butt-head's a Santa Claus and Beavis is the unfortunate reindeer. Highlights- Beavis' take on what the future will look like; the music videos of RUN-DMC and the Ramones (the only other release on tape that has music videos is Hard Cash); McVicker's family sequence; Charlie, the guardian angel, giving Butt-head a tour of life without him. A must-have for fanatics of the boys from Highland- it's also available now along with the Butt-o-ween special from Time-Life (though I'm not sure if that includes the music videos or not). A+

Christmas Specials, the Mike Judge Way
Ddey6512 July 2003
Warning: Spoilers
Too many spoilers have been listed here, so bear with me as I give my own explanation of why this is so good.

Actually, there really isn't much to explain. It's simply Beavis and Butt-head re-hashing two traditional Christmas tales, in the (then) twisted mannerisms of Mike Judge. A completely unhealthy mix that somehow still works. The first tale threatens the mood of Charles Dickens's "Christmas Carol," while the second one rips "It's a Wonderful Life" apart. Only Trey Parker and Matt Stone could do something crazier, and have.

Beyond that there are the segments in between, such as the "Letters to Santa Butt-head," and Yule Log scenes. The Yule Log scenes were lame, but the Santa Butt-head scenes were good for a chuckle. I don't think any straight guy wouldn't be turned on by the last letter even if they had the three-point I.Q. that Highland's Most Hated are lacking. The VHS & DVD releases of this episode contain music videos and other segments from the 1993 B & B Christmas Special that this lacked when it originally aired. It may not be good for small children, but it is good for laughs and deserves to be a stocking stuffer in your collection.
