A newly-married couple give a party to their friends. Amongst the guests is a former sweetheart of the wife, who is quite unknown to the husband. The wife, on being introduced to her old lover, is noticed a by her husband, who becomes suspicious when he sees their agitation. His suspicions are confirmed when he accidentally gets hold of a note from his wife, telling her old lover to keep their love affair a secret. On the night of the party, two burglars enter the house and find a necklace, which is missed by the wife, who hurries to the library, only to see her old lover holding the necklace. He is about to hand it to her when her husband enters, and without waiting for any explanation, fights with his suspected rival. While this is in progress. the burglars' presence is discovered by the wife. Bribing the thieves, she makes them confess to her husband, who begs the man's pardon, and all ends well.
