Johnny Depp appears to be taking his role in Dark Shadows very seriously. He is so serious, in fact, that he is reportedly dropping his weight down to 140 pounds.
He is using a method that is similar to what Christian Bale did for his role in The Machinist by drinking copious amounts of tea (for Bale it was coffee).
Future Johnny Depp???
Here are the details from The Sun:
"Johnny Depp is on permanent tea duty at the moment. The movie hero is making regular brews as he prepares for his new vampire flick Dark Shadows. He needs to shift several stone for the part and is doing it by sinking gallons of green tea. Johnny is aiming to get down to 10st so he looks as gaunt as possible - and he's got to put up with this diet from hell for another couple of months before shooting starts in April.
