A passenger airplane is flying peacefully through the air. Back home in France, airport authorities receive threatening phone calls. Someone somewhere seems to have arranged for the plane to be destroyed in mid-flight...

"Sechs Stunden Angst" is quite a watchable thriller : suspenseful, taut, focused and concise. The intrigue is quite clever and there are some moments of welcome humor in order to lighten the mix. (First reaction of two children upon learning that their plane is in mortal danger : cool !) However, the mystery aspect could have used some extra red herrings. For instance, why not give the actress passenger an obsessed fan or a disgruntled body double ? Or why not saddle one of the co-pilots with a shady career history ?

Modern-day travellers will watch the description of 1960's air travel while drooling with envy : instead of the current purgatory-bordering-on-hell, there once existed a heaven full of relaxed safety measures, informal contacts with captain and crew, ample leg room and copious access to luggage. Times sure have changed...
