A favorite at Sex T.V.
BlackJack_B16 September 2006
It seems that Sex T.V.'s late night fare offers up the same 50 or so MFV softcore films or stuff like Voyeur. Still, better to pay $2.50 for your softcore than to pay $36 to get The Playboy Channel only after you paid for The Movie Channel package. Some people don't need all-day skin; especially if Playboy offers very little new programming. This film is heavy in the Sex T.V. rotation.

Love Games is just another in the long line of films that owes it's existence to Basic Instinct. 15 years after Sharon Stone showed what a real sex symbol should look like they continue to churn out variations of the film for the softcore/middlecore market.

Computer tycoon Paul and supermodel Monica are happily married, but they know how to keep the spice in their relationship. At Monica's suggestion, they devise a game in which they must complete sexy dares to win. Enlisting the help of their friends and several more than willing strangers (mostly those dudes that clean the pools), the couple sets out on their excitingly hot adventure.

And then somebody dies and the requisite whodunit segment comes in. How many MRG films seem to have a murder somewhere in the storyline? Well, the story is another retread so it has to come down to the money shots. The sex scenes are very good and the porn stars involved do their job. It also is nice that the female cast is all natural. Although her German accent gets in the way, Nicole "Dru Berrymore" Hilbig always looks delicious and Flower is fine as always.

Venus, for some reason, didn't do it for me. She seemed to look way too tanned; thankfully she does it nude so no tanlines (she mentions in the film that she hates tanlines) and she needed to put on a little weight as her ribcage is a little too visible. She gets naked a lot in this film so you have to see her the most.

It's another routine softcore whodunit but the women are nice and the decadence is everywhere. If you have Sex T.V. you'll see it sooner than later.

A Glimpse into the lives of the "Beautiful People"
bbhlthph9 August 2007
Warning: Spoilers
This film is a sophisticated little adult thriller about a very well to do happily married couple who both love and trust each other, and have no intention of straying. Not a good basis for a typical soft-core adult film, but this is not the typical such film. Instead of a storyline designed to create as many different pairings as possible from a limited cast, we have here an ongoing relationship which is erotic as well as lustful. Realising that passion can grow stale from monotony, this couple decide to keep their love alive through little private fantasies - the love games of the title. This ultimately leads to them attending a party hosted by a rich member of their community whom they know only by name. Unfortunately for them he is murdered on the night of the party under circumstances which throw police suspicions on them. Unfortunately for us, this also divides the film into two very disparate parts, - the first comedy and the second a murder thriller, and for me these did not meld very effectively. So severe is this dichotomy that in the end I could not recommend this film as highly as I had first hoped. But for a late night adult film it remains far superior to most in several important respects.

The opening sequences list both Venus and Flower among the cast. Not being familiar with the work of either actress (and with appropriate apologies to both ladies), these single barreled and rather voluptuous stage names initially led me to wonder whether this could be a film produced by a porno studio in both hardcore and adult versions designed for different audiences. However I quickly realised it was a much more polished production than such studios usually achieve. It had quite a large cast, all much better actors than those usually found in such films, and it was obviously filmed with considerable care in a variety of very expensive looking settings. It also has a quite complex story line, far superior to those found in most soft-core adult films. Although it includes copious simulated sex scenes, the believable lead characters who clearly cared for each other, meant that the sex scenes flowed naturally from this and therefore did not seem unnecessary additions. Ultimately what I remember best is the glimpse it provided of the type of imaginary lifestyle so often fictionally attributed to those for whom money is very plentiful and an unrestricted sex life is normal; this made it enjoyable to watch. It was probably the first film of its genre that I have seen which left me recognising I would welcome a chance to watch it again even before it was over. All things considered I am prepared to give it a User rating of five stars.
