This show is mildly entertaining but doesn't come close to the best Australian crime show I've seen, City Homicide. The characters, with the exception of Donna, are on the sleazy side, and so are the storylines. I prefer the Melbourne setting of City Homicide as well. I can see why this show only lasted one season.

Adding: I am now over halfway through the series and it's improved. The addition of John Waters as Guido's dad has really helped. Still not as good as City Homicide but I bumped my rating up a point.

Great 'aussie cop show' that doesn't get the recognition it deserves. It's a lot better than most of the cop shows that seem to be infesting Australian TV right now, such as White Collar Blue, which has the same kind of basis - 2 guy detectives and 2 girl detectives partnered up (not as good as Young Lions). The acting is pretty good, especially from Alex Dimitriades and Tom Long. It probably won't continue for a second series because of bad treatment from the network it's on - if given a chance in an earlier time slot instead of being shoved to 10.30 after 2 weeks it may have been more popular.
