European Road Movie with Kaurismäki characters
maerz120 March 2005
Anne Alix has done an extra-ordinary job with her first movie that reaches a new level of Modern and European Road Movie. The story tells about the journey of a French professor and an Italian mason who travel home from the North Cape across Scandinavia. The characters can be compared with some of Aki Kaurismäkis films: They are strange but original. One could understand the dialogs without subtitles but due to 6 different languages (French, Italian, English, Finnish, Swedish and German) which appear during the journey through 5 countries it is better to have them. Dream Dream Dream is a mix of classical and modern Roadmovie elements with some Kaurismäki touch and lives the thinking of European Integration. Interesting to see for Non-Europeans, too!
