the french Thunder Road ...
.... yes it is. Kentucky is replaced by Orne, the Swiss Normandy with its tormented roads, but there's no french Robert Mitchum in the casting, Roland Lesaffre would have been great, remember him in Thérèse Raquin. And there's no song title like Thunder Road, sung by Robert Mitchum with Merle Travis on guitar.

Anyway, there's still are some great scenes of purchase between cops and moonshiners (with Ford cars). And the most shocking scenes are the relation between alcohol and children, quite unusual if not unique in french cinema. That's why Jusqu'à Plus Soif was censured by de Gaulle, it only got released on old video cassette until the residents of the towns where the movie was shot searched for the movie to be released. And at last they succeeded for our own delight, jump on that gem.
