At this stage in their careers, Lloyd Hamilton and Bud Duncan formed a comedy pair for Kalem, Ham & Bud. Playing a pair of vicious tramps, they wandered into random situations, inflicted some pain and left. This was supposed to be funny. Mostly it looks psychopathic. After they split up -- they couldn't stand each other more than I can stand the pair of them -- Hamilton became one of the most accomplished and admired short film comedians of the 1920s and Bud Duncan continued working for the next thirty years, for no discernible reasons.
This is one of their watchable efforts, mostly because they aren't on the screen that much and Ethel Teare, who plays a young lady who wants to go onto the stage and overacts at the drop of a hat, is quite amusing. Ham & Bud are confused for a theatrical agency and are offered money to talk her out of the stage. There's also a good sequence at the end where people are shooting at them, but don't get your hopes up. They miss.
