The Hit Factory Of Yesterday
strong-122-47888530 November 2015
To be sure - Between 1958-1964 (with the advent of rock'n'roll) the American music industry went through some very drastic changes as it made numerous giant steps forward in an attempt to cater to and satisfy the vastly blossoming "teen market" of the day.

Through vintage footage, stills and some fairly recent interviews with past songwriters, singers and record producers, this informative documentary gives the viewer a clear look at the American recording industry as it stood during rock'n'roll's infancy.

And, for any singer or songwriter bent on making it in the business back then, it was that well-known, NYC address of 1619 Broadway, in Manhattan, where many a-successful career was made and the next teen idol was born.

From Carole KIng, to Connie Francis, to Bobby Darrin, to Burt Bacharach, and beyond - Back in those "glory" days, you could be sure to find them all delving into the manufacturing of rock'n'roll at the Brill Building, which quickly became known to one and all as "The Hit Factory".
