Decent at parts
superindrajit24 January 2012
Warning: Spoilers
After some more nonsense movies like Dushmani:A Violent Love Story, Deol moved on with success with Angrakshak(Bodyguard) which was decent, and then, he did his third movie in 1995 but due to production delays and filming delays, Himmat released a few months later in 1996. It was his first 1996 release but it wasn't a hit but neither a flop. The movie is definitely a copy of either James Bond or Mission Impossible. But, it has its Hindi masala and action that makes it unique and different. Sadly, even this movie isn't fully decent. It has its moments to impress the audience with Deol as the smart agent. But, the story itself has clichés, the editing is average and certain scenes don't make sense. The casting is not shown at first and this may be another editing delay from 1995. Because, only a few reasonable movies have castings after 30-45 minutes of the movie, but this movie isn't reasonable much. Acting is average, Sudesh Behry is wasted in a small role and the villains are all typecast, Deol as the smart agent does well, Tabu is average, Shilpa sucks, rest are okay. But, the movie is just decent in parts, its nothing good. Overall, another Deol movie that went unoticed but it wasn't a flop.

Sunny wannabe James Bond
silvan-desouza17 November 2009
Sunny's films mostly are the loud type, with lots of action and loud noise by Sunny

This is a James Bond kinda film wherein Sunny tries to solve a mystery pertaining to some missile case

The film is a decent action film but ruined with some crude comic acts and also some illogical goof ups

The film also has the standard action and romance

Direction is okay Music is okay, SAATHIYA stands out

Sunny Deol looks cool and does his part with ease Tabu is okay, Shilpa annoys Mohan Joshi, Gulshan Grover are typecast Sudesh Berry is adequate, Mukesh Khanna is as usual

Sunny deol as Desi James Bond
farazdiana8 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Sunny Deol is an only Actor Who could Have some Justice to this Role. Good Movie you wnt get bored of you are a Sunny Deol fan. Tabu looks Beautiful one of her early movies. Shilpa Shetty role was small. Nasseruddin Shah steales the Show as the Main Villain. Gulshan Grover has a small role but does a good job as always. Mohan Joshi has the same role as every role he usually does. Kiran kumar has a special appearance in a villainous role. Good action for a 90s movie descent songs. It was a average hit at the box office which went unnoticed Watch it if you want to watch a movie with desi James Bond without any Bold scenes.

Cooooooooooooooooool!!

Himmat is awesome, and it is a true class action-packed thriller movie. This was like watching an Indian James Bond. Sunny Deol was superb (he did NOT at all roar in this movie). This film had it all: suave secret agent, 2 girls (1 good and the other femme fatale, so watch to find out who), villains, saving India from destruction, loads of action, adventure, thrills, and fun (basically all the masala that you could ask for) to keep you at the edge of your seat. I must say that this is a class apart (it will remind you of Dharmendra's Aankhen (1968)). Watch how Sunny Deol saves his country from the enemies, and you will enjoy it all. I could give this a 12/10. Go for it!!
