Actor Bart Shatto, who plays vampire hunter Dr. Jacob Sloane in Sleepless Nights, would go on to play one of Bram Stoker's original vampire hunters, Quincy Morris, in the 2004 Broadway production of "Dracula, the Musical."
Matthew Thomas, the actor who plays vampire Christian Grey, left the production before it was completed and remaining scenes involving his character were shot using a stand in. As a result, Duke York, the actor who plays the film's villain, Lord Malgaard, never actually met Thomas, though they both appear in the film's climactic sequence.
The bar scene interiors were shot at Bohemian Hall, a restaurant and beer garden in Astoria, NY.
The park scene was shot on property in Huntington, Long Island, owned at the time by the executive producer of the film, Frank Cilla. The same property would later be used in the film "Demon Resurrection" (2008) as the meeting site of a satanic cult.
Actor Sam Zeller was originally cast in the role of Lord Malgaard, but production delays and scheduling conflicts caused him to leave the production after only one day of shooting. He was replaced in the role by actor Duke York. The only shot of Zeller in the finished film is a close-up of his booted foot stomping down on the arm of Christian Grey (Matthew Thomas) as he reaches for a crossbow in the film's climactic roof sequence.
