Tanuja is perfect for the role of a young widow with an teenaged daughter. Slim and eye catching . She gets married to Sukumaran after some misgivings with her family support . He is nice and kind and tries to win over her daughter . She keeps calling him cousin or uncle initially . After some misunderstandings he wins her over but a seed of doubt is planted in Tanuja's mind slowly . She starts suspecting his relations with her . Both step father and daugther are often together and also go out of town for several days citing her college admissions . He is regularly seen alone in her company. Suspecting the worst , she decides to kill herself and drinks poision. Her baby is aborted and finally she realises that her daughter is actually in love with her class mate Pratap Pothen and all the time he was supporting her decision quitely . She hears her daughter call him Daddy finally and all doubts are rested . Madhu is cute as a button . Sukumaran is good looking and acts well as a patient persistent middle aged father and husband . Pratap Pothen has a few minutes' role as Madhu's boy friend . Adoor Bhavani invokes some laughs as the vain maid always decking herself . Rafi's Hindi song involving her in a dream scene (Shabab Leke) is a must watch . His voice glides over the lush green Kerala landscape smoothly . Over all a fine movie showing subtle human relations .
