This film pioneered in honestly telling the historical fact that was willfully ignored: During World War II, Japan used opium and heroin trade in China to finance the war while Chinese resistance also use drugs as hard currency to buy necessary supply in the Japanese occupied territory that cannot be manufactured in Chinese held territory.
