The father and mother, during Barbara's early childhood, are murdered by two Mexican outlaws. Barbara is carried on the back of an Indian friend to safety. Barbara is cared for and raised by the Indian. Years later we find one of the Mexicans a governor of one of the countries. Now a grown girl, Barbara comes in contact with him. Her Indian guardian recognizes his enemy of yore, and makes it his business to fasten the guilt of murder upon him and bring about punishment. After Barbara has been kidnapped by the Mexican, the Indian pursues him to the mountain and fights a desperate duel with him on the cliffs. Justice is accomplished; Barbara returns to her own and to the love of a young doctor, whose mother has befriended her.
