DR's series can often involve unnuanced caricatures of their characters. Not this one. Here we see Kaj Munk portrayed as sometimes a fanatic with little empathy for his friends and loved ones, sometimes well loved and respected and able to bring great joy to his surroundings.
The acting is wonderful, and beautiful pictures of the Danish countryside and small towns create the right atmosphere.
