Natalie Portman as Jacqueline Kennedy: 'Jackie.' Natalie Portman as Jacqueline Kennedy in 'Jackie' Notwithstanding the box office-friendly Thor movies, which revolve around Chris Hemsworth in the title role, Natalie Portman has yet to have a star vehicle as impactful as Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan, which earned her the Best Actress Academy Award nearly five years ago. Who knows, perhaps Pablo Larraín's Jackie will be one such vehicle; the biopic following U.S. First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy in the days after President John F. Kennedy assassination is slated for a 2017 release. The image above is the official “first look,” initially posted at Deadline.com. Also in the Jackie cast: Peter Sarsgaard as Robert Kennedy, Max Casella, Beth Grant, and Greta Gerwig. Darren Aronofsky and Juan de Dios Larraín are the two credited producers, while Noah Oppenheim (The Maze Runner, The Divergent Series: Allegiant) is the credited screenwriter.

National Geographic has scored a pretty good casting coup for its upcoming original movie "Killing Kennedy": Rob Lowe and Ginnifer Goodwin will star as John and Jacqueline Kennedy.
The film has also signed Michelle Trachtenberg, late of "Gossip Girl," to play Marina Oswald, Lee Harvey Oswald's wife.
"Killing Kennedy" is based on the best-selling book by Bill O'Reilly and Martin Dugard that chronicles the events leading up to JFK's assassination on Nov. 22, 1963. It focuses on Kennedy and Lee Harvey Oswald (who has yet to be cast) and key events in their lives that led them both to Dallas that day.
Kelly Masterson ("Before the Devil Knows You're Dead") is writing the script for the movie, which Nelson McCormick ("Touch," "Southland") will direct.
Lowe ("Parks and Recreation," "Behind the Candelabra") joins a long list of actors who have played John F. Kennedy over the years, among them Greg Kinnear...

Exclusive: Kristoffer Polaha is staying in the CBS family. Polaha, who stars on the critically praised CW/CBS Studios drama Life Unexpected, has signed a rich talent holding deal with CBS and CBS Studios to topline a new project eyed for next fall. I hear Polaha was offered the deal the day CW decided not to give Life Unexpected a back order, effectively sealing the fate of the sophomore drama. There are four unaired episodes of Lux left and, barring any last-minute ratings surge, the series will be done in January, allowing Polaha to take on pilot duty for CBS. Actors signed in talent deals by CBS have gone on to headline some of its biggest series, including William Petersen on CSI, Melina Kanakaredes on CSI: NY, LL Cool J on NCIS: La and Alex O'Loughlin on Hawaii Five-0. Polaha, repped by Wme and Mosaic, is the only drama...

Singer Jackson Browne has forced two American TV programs to edit out scenes referring to allegations he beat up ex-girlfriend Daryl Hannah. The Fox Television production of America's Prince: The John F Kennedy Jr Story, which aired on cable network Tnt in January, will be altered to delete references to Browne in two scenes, says his publicist Michael Jensen. Browne says in a statement, "I never assaulted Daryl Hannah, and this fact was confirmed by the investigation conducted at the time by the Santa Monica Police Department. I am gratified that Fox has agreed to take these steps." And Browne has also been successful in getting the Gurin Company to remove a scene which refers to the allegation from When Cameras Cross The Line, a documentary that originally aired on cable music network VH1. A written apology has been added to the beginning of the documentary, which states in part, "In a previous version of this program, we incorrectly reported an alleged incident involving singer Jackson Browne and actress Daryl Hannah...
