The film, with eight songs, was shot in flat 28 days at Ramoji Rao Filmcity in Hyderabad. The talkie portions of the film were canned in 18 days flat.
The song "Suno Piya" was recorded using only the guitar and vocals. Initially composer Pritam Chakraborty was slightly skeptical about the way it shaped out, but when the song was spliced with the film shot for the song, he was more than happy with the final result.
Sanjay Gadhvi's directorial debut.
The film was originally entitled "Tu hi Bataa", and was to star Arjun Rampal and Raveena Tandon, with direction by Sanjay Gadhvi and Devang Dholakia, cinematography by Ashok Mehta, music by Viju Shah and lyrics by Anand Bakshi. Unfortunately filming came to a halt when the first song was shot and went over budget, causing Dholakia to chicken out. After an indefinite delay, the film recommenced shooting in February 2000, with Dholakia only as a producer and Gadhvi as the film's sole director.
