A brisk, modern newspaper story, written and produced by Harold Shaw. The dictagraph is employed, and there are some good dramatic moments of a plausible character. The title of "The Cub" was not well chosen, however, as the reporter-hero was really a veteran at his job. A good offering. - The Moving Picture World, May 3, 1913
