Much better than expected...
thehardyboyz204330 September 2005
Warning: Spoilers
A great pay-per-view event and one of the best Wrestlemania's of all time, in my opinion. Now on to the match descriptions and comments.

1. Cruiserweight Championship: Matt Hardy (Champion) vs. Rey Mysterio- This was a good opener, though it should've been about 4 minutes longer. Finish saw Hardy roll Rey up and use the ropes to retain. 7/10

2. Handicap Match: Undertaker vs. Big Show and A-Train-An all right match, really should've had 'Taker win by DQ instead of beating two big heels, but the match wasn't all bad. Nathan Jones run in at the end was nice, as was the Tombstone finish. Limp Bizkit doing Undertaker's intro. was awesome by the way. 6/10

3. Triple-Threat Women's Championship: Victoria (Champion) vs. Jazz vs. Trish Stratus-Not too bad actually, Victoria's actually a decent wrestler, though Jazz is and was clearly the better one here. Finish saw Trish hit a chick kick out of nowhere for the win. 7/10

4. Triple-Threat WWE Tag Team Championship: Team Angle (Champions) vs. Los Guerreros vs. Rhyno and Chris Benoit-A good though very short match, nothing really noteworthy though. 5/10.

5. Shawn Michaels vs Chris Jericho: Great back and forth wrestling contest, actually though Michaels was going to lose, and thought he should've. The finish was nice, a roll-up out of nowhere by Michaels. 10/10

6. Pillow Fight: Catfight girls vs. Stacy Keibler and Torrie Wilson-Purely pointless, could've used the time and added it to other matches. 0/10.

7. World Heavyweight Championship: Triple H (Champion) vs. Booker T-Pretty good actually, Booker T proved he deserved the title and I wished he would've won, thought he did win, when he hit that sick Harlem Hangover off the top rope. At least the finish was clean, HHH hit a pedigree in the middle of the ring for the 1-2-3, to retain. 8/10.

8. Street Fight: Hulk Hogan vs. Vince McMahon-A hugely entertaining match, actually thought this was going to be a sluggish bout, but it stunned me. The leg drop off the ladder from Vince on Hogan was sick. Piper's return was a little weird. Finish came with three Hogan leg drops. 10/10

9. Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. The Rock: A good match, and a good way to close out Austin's active wrestling career. Nice to see the Rock go over even though he left a month after this event. Finish came after a third rock bottom to Austin. 8/10

10. WWE Championship: Kurt Angle (Champion) vs. Brock Lesnar-A great match, even with Kurt's neck hurting him like who knows what. Great back and forth exchanges, and the botched shooting star press by Brock, was one of the sickest landings I've ever seen in wrestling. Amazingly, Brock got back up, F-5'd Angle and won the title. Afterwards, Brock didn't look like he knew where he was. 10/10

Overall I thought this was a great Wrestlemania, all the matches ranged from good to great, except for the Handicap and the Triple-Threat Tag match. 9/10.

Wrestlemania XIX
This was very good. It had the Wrestlemania feel about it.

The first match was disappointing as Matt Hardy faced Rey Mysterio. Surprisingly Rey stared at the ceiling but what was most surprising was that the match was only booked for 6 minutes long. The match didn't stand a chance.

Next up The Undertaker battled A-Train and The Big Show in a handicap match, which was supposed to be a tag match putting Taker and Nathan Jones together. This was forgettable. Then Victoria, Trish Stratus and Jazz have a triple threat battle, which was OK at the very best.

Then Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas put their tag team gold on the line as they defend their titles against Los Guerrero's and Chris Benoit and Rhyno. This was a very good match. Next up two of the best wrestlers on the Raw roster battle it out as Shawn Michaels takes on Chris Jericho in a fine match. It was like watching an older Shawn battling a younger Shawn (Jericho) HBK won.

Then Triple H puts his World Heavyweight title on the line as he defends it against Booker T. This was good, and even though Triple H won, I was surprised by the finish, A clean pedigree. I repeat again A CLEAN PEDIGREE! Nope no Flair interfearing! Next up Hulk Hogan battles Vince McMahon in a street fight. This was shocking because 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper returned and turned heel on Hogan. But this was a very good match.

Next up 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin battles The Rock. This was OK but there have been more better battles putting these two men together. Rock wins after 3 Rock Bottoms.

Next up wrestling fans get their dreams come true as Kurt Angle puts his gold on the line as he defends it against Brock Lesnar. This was excellent but Lesnar nearly killed himself when attempting his shooting star press. Lesnar wins when he F5's Angle.

Very good!

One of the best 'Manias!
Krippler2 May 2005
Warning: Spoilers
Ratings out of 10.

* Rey Mysterio vs Matt Hardy (7) Fast paced and very exciting cruiserweight title match. Wish it could have lasted longer than 5 minutes but these 2 guys filled those 5 with plenty of good stuff.

* Undertaker vs Big Show & A-Train (3) Not a terrible match but there's also not a lot that we haven't seen before. Nathan Jones was supposed to partner up with 'Taker in this one but doesn't appear until the finish.

* Trish Stratus vs Victoria vs Jazz (6) Amazingly entertaining womens triple threat match. Probably the best womens match I have ever watched. All the moves are crisp and some look like they really hurt. Good job by all.

* Benoit & Rhyno vs Team Angle vs Los Guerreros (6) Some great action in this one. Where the time shortage didn't hurt the Mysterio match, I feel that 8 minutes isn't enough for a triple threat tag match. Good match but could've been so much better.

* Shawn Michaels vs Chris Jericho (8) Technically speaking, this was the match of the night. No titles on the line here, just a good old grudge match. HBK looks great here but Y2J seems a little out of shape at times, resorting to rest holds that really slowed the match down.

* Triple H vs Booker T (7) Booker T's best WWE match (IMO). Super stiff brawl here with some nice interference by Flair on HHH's behalf. Liked seeing the Harlem Hangover crush HHH's head. Looked really painful. Good clean finish, I just thought Booker should have gone over.

* Hulk Hogan vs Vince McMahon (8) Entertainment wise, this was the match of the night. Certainly not a Flair/Steamboat wrestling classic, but for what it was, it kicked ass. Lots of blood, vicious chair shots (on Mexican announcers even), and even a surprise appearance by Roddy Piper. McMahon coming off the ladder with a legdrop is classic.

* The Rock vs Steve Austin (6) This one was actually pretty boring to me. Too much punching and kicking. The superstar-factor definitely makes this one watchable, but I felt like I was watching John Cena wrestle or something. Glad to see Rock go over Austin.

* Brock Lesnar vs Kurt Angle (7) Good match but not the type of mat-classic these 2 would have down the line. Some of the submission holds really slowed the match to a crawl at points. Had the match finished as planned, would've definitely given this one an 8. Glad Brock didn't die.

Impressive
Gary Ballance2 April 2003
Warning: Spoilers
This year's WrestleMania was, overall, an impressive affair with 2 excellent matches, a few good ones and only one bad one. Here are the matches on the card (w/ MATCH RESULT SPOILERS).

MATCH 1- Matt Hardy vs Rey Mysterio (for the Cruiserweight championship). Good, but short opening match. It's unfortunate that it just goes over 5 minutes, but those are 5 action-packed minutes! Good high-flying (as usual) from Mysterio and Hardy's offense is unique as always (nice Side effect out of the corner.) Matt pulls out a surprising win, reversing a victory roll into a pin. Again, a bit disappointing that it's only about the length of a SmackDown! match. Good though. (7.5)

MATCH 2- The Undertaker vs Big Show & Albert. Ugh. As expected, this was the worst one on the card- it's not 100% crap (Taker's fujiwara armbar and jujigatame made it interesting at least). However, as soon as Show & Albert go on the offensive, the match nosedives! 'Taker wins anyhow w/ the Tombstone on Albert. (4)

MATCH 3- Trish Stratus vs Jazz vs Victoria (for the Women's title). Pretty good- the end was a bit crap, but the action was good throughout. Nice modified Michinoku driver by Jazz. Trish wins anyway w/ a high roundhouse kick to Victoria. Weak ending. (6)

MATCH 4- Team Angle vs Los Guerreros vs Rhyno & Benoit (for the SmackDown! tag titles). Not as good as I expected, but still good nonetheless. The end was also a bit frustrating- Benamin pins Chavo after a Gore. It's good for heel heat, but it's still a bit irritating. (7)

MATCH 5- Shawn Michaels vs Chris Jericho. This was the match I was most looking forward to, and it delivered in a big way! Great action for 20+ minutes and a number of near-finishes (which I always like). Despite falling victim to the Walls, the Lionsault and his own Sweet Chin Music, HBK wins, pinning Jericho w/ a rolling clutch pinning combination. Jericho gets the last laugh, suckering in Michaels after the match with a false display of sportsmanship, then hitting a low blow on his idol. Great match. (9)

MATCH 6- Triple H vs Booker T (for the RAW world title). Not a bad match- Triple H executes a mean Indian deathlock and Booker's Scissors kick (which usually is a poor finisher in my view) looks brilliant in this match. Anyhow after plenty more action (including a nice Spinebuster by Triple H and Booker's rolling hangover) Triple H retains w/ the Pedigree. (6.5)

MATCH 7- Hulk Hogan vs Vince McMahon. Better than I expected. Vince's ladder spot shocked me, so too did the appearance of a former Intercontinental champion in one of the worst run-ins EVER! Hogan wins this bloody affair w/ 3 legdrops in succession. (6)

MATCH 8- The Rock vs Stone Cold. Also good. The near-finishes towards the end really add to it, with both men using their own, and each other's finishers. It takes The Rock 3 Rock bottoms (the last one is particularly good) to finish off Austin and get the 3 count. Rock finally gets his well-deserved WM win over Austin (who gets a lukewarm crowd reaction it seems). (7)

MATCH 9- Brock Lesnar vs Kurt Angle (for the SmackDown! undisputed title). Great match throughout. Excellent action and a spot that made me absolutely cringe! (The last time I had a cringe-worthy moment like that was when Shane McMahon was belly-to-belly suplexed on his head at King Of The Ring '01!) Lesnar's shooting star press (where he starts nicely, but clatters his head off the mat) was nasty! Amazingly he still manages to complete the match, pinning Angle after a third F-5. Brilliant performance by both men and a terrific main event. (8.5)

I definitely believe that this year's WrestleMania outdid last year's. As I said, impressive.

The best Wrestlemania ever
Tom-AVA12 April 2007
It has been over 4 years since this Wrestlemania took place. I was only 11 years old when i watched this live. The other day i watched Wrestlemania 23 which in itself was awesome, but i thought back to past Wrestlemanias and this one came to my mind and i couldn't quite remember why.

So i went out and bought Wrestlemanias 11-17 and 18-21 on box set. Well i watched 17 first because i had to see The Rock v Austin once more because it was awesome. And i skipped 18 and went straight to 19. Perhaps it is because i am now older and can appreciate this Wrestlemania a lot more now than when i first watched it because now i see it as the best Wrestlemania i have ever seen and this is because of a few matches that were simply amazing.

Well lets start off in order. The opening match of Matt Hardy against Rey Mysterio was a simply brilliant cruiserweight battle and Reys attire was pretty awesome. Shawn Michaels took on Chris Jericho in a match that was an instant classic. Hulk Hogan v Vince McMahon was another match that i will remember forever just because it was the whole 20 years on the making storyline.

And then perhaps one match that i will remember again, forever because The Rock finally beat Steve Austin at Wrestlemania. This match was the last time that Austin and The Rock ever met in the ring and it was another incredible match.

Finally the last match on the card, Brock Lesnar v Kurt Angle. A rivalry for the WWE title that had raged for quite a while and then it inevitably hit Wrestlemania. This, in my opinion, is the greatest match of all time because of the truly incredible athleticism that both men showed. From the reversals, to the quick pin attempts. From the huge Angle Slam to the German Suplex into the turnbuckle and finally from that failed Shooting to Brocks F-5 that finished the match, it showed what Wrestlemania is all about.

A really good Pay Per View
nick_z132 April 2003
This years Wrestlemania was really good. The best matches of the night, in my opinion, was Shawn Michaels Vs Chris Jericho, Hogan and McMahon, Austin and Rock and Brock Lesner Vs Kurt Angle. In my opinion, the show stealers of the night were Hogan and McMahon and Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho. I have never seen McMahon put up a fight like he did up against Hulk Hogan and in the Michaels, Jericho match, every time you thought that Michaels was going to tap, or Jericho was going to get pinned, those two just wouldn't give up, they just kept on going and going and going. Over all this was a good Pay Per View, except for the Triple H, Booker T, World Heavyweight Title match. It would be nice to see Triple H loose for once, or have him compete in a match without Flair in his corner by ringside, or have someone different compete against someone else for the title. Over all good Pay Per View.

The absolute best Wrestlemania...EVER
toysoldier_johnnybanks17 September 2003
WWE Wrestlemania XIX was the best I have personally ever seen. I have seen everyone, and none can compare. Shawn Michaels v. Chris Jericho was without a doubt the best match of the night, However Kurt Angle v. Brock Lesnar was close. Wrestlemania is truly a celebration of life, and entertainment at its best, buy Wrestlemania XIX, its worth every penny...and more so.

Warning: Spoilers
This Review Contains *SPOILERS* you have been forwarned! Sunday March 30, 2003; fans fill Safeco FIELD in Seattle , Washington:

IS THIS REALLY THE END OF HULKAMANIA? WILL AUSTIN MAKE IT 3 FOR 3? CAN BOOKER T BEST "THE GAME" CAN KURT ANGLE TAKE THE PAIN!!

FIND OUT BELOW!

WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match Matt Hardy(c) with Shannon Moore vs Rey Mysterio

This was a pretty good match for the opener of Wrestlemania. I was really surprised at how much both men gave. Even thought Matt won, I have now to this day the respect of Rey, he gives it all he has during all his matches. This was a very fasted pased match, and you couldn't blink and keep up, and thats what I enjoy most. I give this a 9.5, great opener for a great event...read on!

Triple Threat Women's Championship Match Victoria with Steven Richards vs Trish Stratus vs Jazz

I for do not really care for the womens belt. This was a pretty good match. I give it a 3.

Triple Threat WWE Tag Team Championship Match The Worlds Greatest Tag Team(Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin) vs Eddie Guerrero & Chavo Guerrero vs Christ Beniot & Rhyno.

This was a very good tag team championship match. Even though Charlie Haas and His partner won, this was a very fast paced match with twist and turns in each direction. I just wish Chris Beniot & Rhyno would have won, they would have made a very good tag team, and even better champions! I give this match a solid 8.

Shawn Michaels VS Chris Jericho This had to be the best match of the night. Very hands on matchup between one of the greats and one of his former idols. I really enjoyed how Chris Jericho wrestled this match, I'm not really a fan of Jericho, but this proved me wrong, he is a great wrestler and an all around GREAT match up! A total 10!

World Heavyweight Championship Booker T vs Triple H

This is where Wrestlemania suffers the most! Why does Triple H always retain his title? I do not understand this, Booker T should have gotten the chance to be Champion. Luckily Triple H lost his WWE title at Unforgiven to Goldberg. But I still believe Booker T should have won this match, and since Triple H won this match, I give it a 3. Sorry Booker!

Strret Fight "20 years in the making" Hulk Hogan vs Mr. McMahon.

Again, this is where the event suffers, but not as much as Booker vs Triple H. Since Vince and Hulk are about the same, both are really slow. I hate slow matches. Both these men didn't prove anything to me at Wrestlemania. To tell you the truth I've never been a big fan of either Vince or Hogan, so I really didn't care about this match. I give it a 5.

Stone Cold Steve Austin vs The Rock

For the 3(or 4th?) Wrestlemania its Rock vs Austin again. The rock recently coming back doesn't change anything, its still rock vs austin...but this was a very good match. So I don't have much to say about it because we have all seen it before. Pretty good though, 7.

WWE Championship Match - Kurt Angle vs Brock Lesnar

A very good match & a great ending to a great Wrestlemania. The only problem with this match is Kurt Angle. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big BRock fan, but I think Kurt should have retained his title. But a very good match indeed, I give it a 8, great ender.

Very Good
SusanAdebisi23 September 2006
Warning: Spoilers
This has the grandeur of a proper mania building to a brilliant last half.

Cruiserweight title - a good opener getting In as much as possible at a rapid pace. Nice contrast between Rey rey's agile cruiserweight zipping around and Hardy's light heavyweight mix of speed & power.

Handicap match - Sadly the weakest match on the card great entrance though. Taker Is good and gets plenty of offence In, Albert Is plain annoying with all his shouting. The tombstone connects properly for a change usually the "victim" tucks his chin In leaving Inches between head & canvas - not A train who visibly gets dumped right on his bonce.

Triple threat women's title - Not bad atall with a decent flow aided by the fact all 3 are technically sound. Victoria Is too fine & at the time was doing her psycho bint routine with the Tatu entrance. Trish worked damn hard but lets be honest for real Jazz would destroy both then some, Stevie's chair shot didn't help much either!

Triple threat tag championship - very well booked & executed as expected Eddie & Beniot stand out through sheer Intensity. Chavo also looks good until flattened by the man beast.

Shawn Michaels/Jericho - Honestly In the long run this match Is hugely underrated In my book on a par with Angle/Hbk 2 manias ahead There's too many counters/reversals to keep up with, many high spots & nearfalls/tap outs. Not a great HBK fan credit where It's due he's nigh on Invulnerable In this, boy can he do drama. Y2J Is even better, the angle that he "wants to be Michael's" Is played out brilliantly as he does EVERYTHING to succeed. Why bother as a cheap shot would have done, great sore loser ending.

Heavyweight championship: HHH/Booker - Actually a good match as HHH has to up his tempo, Booker as always gives It all to make It look a genuine contest. He Is either a master seller or he legit can't physically stand by the end despite hitting a sick Houston Hangover. The build up bordered on the race card, certainly portraying Booker as unworthy. HHH plays a straight bat for the most part toning down the arrogance and Flair aside the cheating. Commentary on this Is hilarious (remember when Lawler was good) "Imagine being represented by a champion who's family portrait Is a courtroom sketch"! "I hang out with Booker T, we went to the mall - he tried to pay for everything with cigarettes". Wrong but funny.

20 year hype street fight between two 50 somethings - Very watchable In parts lots of the red stuff, great taunt leg drop through the Spanish announce table - worse for poor "amigo" Hugo who like McMahon takes a flush chair-shot hands down. I'm not 11 anymore but surely hulking up now & then Is good for the soul!!

Rock/Austin: Take 3 - the usual brawling start before SCSA takes control, Rock works the knee for a bit then fatally dons Austin's bullet proof jacket......and promptly gets served up. Finishers exchanged, a weak spine buster sets up you know what, missed 1st attempt soon rectified for an electrifying moment. Austin being the master of the middle finger no sells the tarted up elbow drop, as well as 2, yes 2 Rock bottom's before Rocky summons the spiritt of the Scorpion King apparently to deny Stone Cold a hat-trick at Wrestlemania.

WWE Championship:Angle/Lesnar - some chain mat stuff to open up that Isn't received well. Angle then flicks a switch & becomes a suplex machine rolling Germans, snap, belly to back regular & Inside to out, + more I can't name. Lesnar for the beast he Is takes Angle's offence well & the 2 put together a good main event both kick out of the others respective finishers. After the 2nd F5 (huge pop) Kurt's done for....Brocks lurching towards the turnbuckle... You know the rest a hastily re-arranged climax sees a clearly shaken up Lesnar become the new champ.

A high standard of action and many memorable moments ie what wrestlemania's meant to do even If only once a year. Austin/Rock are what made WWF so huge In the late 90's - their confrontations electric, their ongoing feud one of the greatest. Rocky drops the heel persona soon as the match Is done and looked genuinely sad to be walking away. And the shooting star that wasn't - a reminder these guys are seconds away from disaster.

ian_hitmanhart1 April 2003
What a show WrestleMania XIX was, it truly delived the goods. The match of the night had to be Hogan's. I have noticed that Hogan turns up the heat when he fight's the big dogs.

Mostly Solid, If A Bit Anticlimactic
zkonedog13 March 2022
For the most part, WrestleMania 19 is a solid card. It features some interesting matchups--Undertaker handicap match, Michaels/Jericho, & HHH/Booker-T--that lead up to the final three matches that most will remember from this PPV:

-Hogan/McMahon. Kind of a "match made in heaven" for promotion purposes, and I love how it was built-up (Hogan "betraying" McMahon in federal court and what not). Of course, the match itself is a bit of a wet blanket, as Vince isn't a great wrestler--albeit pulling off one great stunt--and the Hulkster is told old to do anything big.

-Rock/Austin at a WrestleMania for a third time. The winner is clearly apparent if you know company history at all at that point, but still a decent match. The one puzzling aspect of these two's clashes is the proclivity towards just aping the other one's iconic finisher.

-The Lesnar/Angle finale is a bit of a farce from an optics angle--there's no way the latter could ever believably beat the former--but Angle is such a great athlete and performer at this time that he creates doubt as to the actual finish.

Big WWE fans of this time will probably rank this card far higher, but I felt that all three big matches--while fine in a technical sense and certainly well-advertised--were somewhat anticlimactic in terms of actual wrestling action and expertise.

An almost perfect show.
Skrogz1 April 2003
Almost.

The undercard was a blur; matches like the Cruiserweight Championship and the Smackdown Tag Triple Threat were such fast-paced spotfests that you didn't really realize how good they really were until they were finished. Even the so-called "plodding" big men worked out of their tights and kept the fans entertained.

Stacy Keibler and Torrie Wilson are two of the most beautiful women on the planet, and on the other end of the scale, Trish Stratus- who could VERY easily get by on her looks alone, especially the way she looked tonight- worked her butt off in putting on a great match with Victoria and Jazz.

The upper card had a distinctly longer and psychological feel about it, particularly the Chris Jericho -vs- Shawn Michaels match, which was probably the best match on the card and proved that as good as non-stop action is, wrestlers don't have to move at the speed of light to entertain the fans. This match was one of the more anticipated on the card, and both men delivered, not "having" but "building" a fantastic match that gripped the fans.

Triple H & Booker T worked a simple but effective match, the age old technique of the heel exploiting a face's injury working well. Triple H even broke out an old school Indian Deathlock which is well worth seeing.

Vince -vs- Hogan made you want to groan for the first few minutes, but when the action spilled outside of the ring the match was well-planned enough- from a huge high spot by Vince to some of the clever camera work employed to a familiar old face making a run-in- that the match turned out to be quite entertaining.

Rock and Austin, whilst pretty much exactly the same as their last two Wrestlemania encounters, needs to be appreciated for what it was: probably the last time we'll see two of the greatest rivals in wrestling history go head to head. With Austin's injuries and Rock's flourishing Hollywood career, this may very well be the case.

Finally, the main event of Brock Lesnar -vs- Kurt Angle. While this was a great match between probably the two best in the business at the moment, I don't think it quite lived up to it's expectations of a month ago. Considering Kurt Angle's neck injury and the more careful style of match that they had to employ as a result, the fans already knew this would be the case, so that isn't the reason the match fell short of the mark.

It was because _Brock_ fell short of the mark. And you'll know what I mean when you see it. It'll make you want to cry.

Not the best Wrestlemania I watched, but it was still fantastic
kliko40016 January 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Now this was a very good Wrestlemania in my opinion, not the best that I watched of course but it was still very good & there were definitely some historic matches on the card.

FIRST MATCH- MATT HARDY W/ SHANNON MOORE VS. REY MYSTERIO FOR THE WWE CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP What a better way to start Wrestlemania with the Cruiserweight Championship on the line. Great high-flying spots & great wrestling abilities by both men. Hardy retains his title after getting a roll-up on Mysterio using the ropes. 5/10

SECOND MATCH- UNDERTAKER VS. BIG SHOW & A-TRAIN IN A 1-2 HANDICAP MATCH {It was supposed to be a tag team match with Nathan Jones teaming up with Undertaker, but he was knocked out on Heat by the F.B.I who were told by Big Show & A-Train} Not a bad handicap match, but could of been a bit better. Nathan Jones comes out & nails cool karate kicks on both A-Train & Big Show which gets Undertaker to do a Chokeslam on A-Train for the win. 4/10

THIRD MATCH- SHELTON BENJAMIN & CHARLIE HAAS VS. LOS GUERREROS {EDDIE & CHAVO GUERRERO} & CHRIS BENOIT & RHYNO IN A TRIPLE-THREAT TAG TEAM MATCH FOR THE WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP Nice triple-threat tag team match which definitely reaches my expectations. All three teams brawl in the ring at one time. Benjmain & Haas get the hard fought victory in this triple-threat tag team match to retain their tag team titles. 5/10

FOURTH MATCH- VICTORIA W/ STEVEN RICHARDS VS. JAZZ VS. TRISH STRATUS IN A TRIPLE-THREAT MATCH FOR THE WWE WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP I'm not really a big fan of Diva matches, but this match was good, really. It was better than the triple-threat match last year at Wrestlemania X8. Trish Stratus gets the win & nails a Stratusfaction on Victoria for the victory to become the new WWE Women's Champion. 5/10

FIFTH MATCH- SHAWN MICHAELS VS. CHRIS JERICHO The feud between these two men finally reaches here at Wrestlemania where they both face each other one on one. It was a good match with both men giving everything they got to pull out a Wrestlemania classic. It was pretty long but it was good. Michaels wins after a roll-up on Jericho. After the match a frustrated Jericho attacks Shawn Michaels before leaving the ring. 5/10

SIXTH MATCH- TRIPLE H W/ RIC FLAIR VS. BOOKER T FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP I liked this match as both Booker T & HHH put a very nice World Title Championship match that they could possibly do. Both men who knocked each other down, get up just in time for HHH to nail a Pedigree on Booker T for the win to retain his World Heavyweight Championship. 5/10

SEVENTH MATCH- Hollywood HULK HOGAN VS. VINCE MCMAHON IN A STREET FIGHT MATCH Every Wrestlemania match that Vince McMahon is in is definitely good, because he always gets beaten up, bashed & bloody by whoever he is versing. This match was brutal but it was still good. Hogan wins after a Leg Drop on McMahon {Who was busted open during the match} & gets the win after a 3 count as Hulkamania goes wild here at Wrestlemania. 5/10

EIGHT MATCH- ROCK VS. STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN This is the third time these two men go one on one against each other at Wrestlemania. Their match at Wrestlemania X7 was really good, but this one was okay even though a bit sloppy & slow at times. After Stone Cold breaks out of 2 Rock Bottoms, he fails to break out the third Rock Bottom which Rock nails on him for the 3 count as Rock has finally beat Stone Cold here at Wrestlemania. 4/10

NINTH MATCH- KURT ANGLE VS. BROCK LESNAR FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP Wow, these two men definitely blow the roof off the arena when they stepped in the ring to go one on one against each other. Both men tried some technical holds & some moves. Lesnar fights out of Angle's holds & nails a second F-5 in the match. Lesnar goes up on top & goes to nail the Shooting Star Press but misses which makes his head bleed a bit. Both men get up as Lesnar finally nails an F-5 on Angle for the win to become the new WWE Champion here at Wrestlemania XIX. What a match, this is definitely the match of the night & probably a Match Of The Year Candidate. After the match both men shake each other hands in respect as both these two men has pulled out a historical match at Wrestlemania. 6/10

This was a really good Wrestlemania. Way better than last year's in my opinion {Wrestlemania X8 was last year's Wrestlemania}.

Overall: I'll give it 8/10 & a B+

One of the Best Wrestlemanias For Sure
carologletree7 February 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Often looked as one of the very best Manias along with X-Seven, and for good reason. The wrestling was top-notch. The main event matches delivered and there wasn't too much to complain about.

Cruiserweight Championship Match: Matt Hardy (c) vs. Rey Mysterio - This was a good match to start the show. It could have used a few more minutes, but it was quite exciting and showcased both men off very well. The only complaint is the cheap ending. Matt Hardy wins by grabbing the rope. RATING: ***

2-On-1 Handicap Match: The Undertaker vs. The Big Show and A-Train - This match was nothing special. Not as horrible as some say, but nothing to get excited about. Undertaker deserved better. The Undertaker wins after Nathan Jones interferes. RATING: **1/4

Triple Threat Match for the Tag Team Championship: Team Angle vs. Los Guerreros vs. Chris Benoit and Rhino - This was a good match. The teams worked really well together and the action was fast and exciting. However, like Rey/Matt, it could have used more time. Team Angle wins by taking advantage of Rhino's Gore. RATING: ***1/4

Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho - A classic match. HBK and Y2J have unbelievable chemistry, and they put on an amazing clinic with great back-and-forth action and superb storytelling. They would have many more matches in the future, but this one still remains their best, and certainly one of the best of both men's careers. Shawn Michaels wins with a roll-up out of nowhere. RATING: ****1/2

World Heavyweight Championship Match: Triple H (c) vs. Booker T - I thought this match was very good. It told a good story with Triple H working on Booker's leg and the Houston Hangover was pretty crazy. This would probably be more well-liked if Booker T won the title like he should have. Triple H retains with a Pedigree. RATING: ***3/4

20 Years in the Making: Hulk Hogan vs. Vince McMahon - A hugely entertaining spectacle. Vince's leg drop from the ladder was pretty sick, and I loved the surprise return of Roddy Piper. Hulk Hogan wins with 3 Leg Drops. RATING: ***1/2

The Rock vs. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin - This was another great match between these two. Not their best match together, but still a great ending to the Rock/Austin saga and to Steve Austin's career. The Rock wins with a third Rock Bottom. RATING: ****

WWE Championship Match: Kurt Angle (c) vs. Brock Lesnar - This was an incredible main event. Despite Kurt's broken neck, these two tore the house down in a fantastic technical wrestling contest and were suplexing the heck out of each other. Brock's botched shooting-star press, of course, is what this match is remembered for. A great ending to the show. Brock Lesnar wins the championship with a third F5. RATING: ****1/2

This was a stellar show. HBK/Y2J and Lesnar/Angle were classics, and there is other good stuff as well. A must-see for any wrestling fan and one of the best Wrestlemanias.

RATING: A

WrestleMania XIX Thoughts

WrestleMania XIX was the 19th annual WrestleMania taking place at the Safeco Center in Seattle Washington with a record-breaking attendence of 15,097 on March 30, 2003. This show is well remembered for being the final in-ring performance of the Texas Rattle Snake Stone Cold Steve Austin as he would do his last feud with long time rival The Rock who had yet to get a victory over Austin at the Big Stage. Another fact about this WrestleMania is that it was the first of the brand split as each match was representing one of the two shows of WWE, Raw and Smackdown. Both top matches of the card featured world title matches Booker T vs. Triple H (Raw) and Brock Lesnar vs. Kurt Angle (Smackdown). Shawn Micheals was also making his return to WrestleMania after 4 years of retirement and coming back to the ring in the summer of the previous year. HBK fought Chris Jericho who idolized Shawn Michaels in real life. This was made in a storyline to where Y2J felt like he has surpassed HBK and was tired of being compared to him. Vince McMahon and Hulk Hogan battled in a brawl as where this ended up being Hogan's final WrestleMania.

The Good - Brock Lesnar vs. Kurt Angle was an outstanding Main Event. I don't think it was as good as their 5 star match on SD months later but it was an instant classic here at WrestleMania. Kurt did extremely well in the ring despite wrestling injured where Doctors did not want him to compete. Austin vs. The Rock was a great closer to the chapter of the rivalry and Stone Cold's career. The amount of finishers and kick outs of this match made it felt really special. I'm honestly glad it wasn't main event though as Kurt Angle vs. Brock Lesnar felt like a passing the torch where Austin and Rock pretty much have already proven themselves. Both Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels and Hulk Hogan vs. Vince McMahon did good too. HBK/Y2J was sooo hot as the audience were just on the edge of the seats because of the steady unpredictability that was to come. Vince and Hogan had a fun and entertaining brawl with a great story of how Hogan betrayed Vince in Vince's eyes for leaving and going to WCW and Vince created him.

The Meh - Booker T vs. Triple H was a decent match. Booker T should have been the winner though. Quite sad based on what was heard off-screen years later as Triple H declined losing to Booker T. The Match was okay but slow paced didn't make the crowd hot the entire match. The opening matches could have been booked better too. Ending so fast really dragged out the first half of the show.

The Bad - The Cat Fight thing was an abomination. The silly promos backstage by the women really made me thankful we have fast forward buttons this generation.

Overall - I hear people say this is one of the best WrestleManias of all time. I think it might be a top 10 but I questioned 5. Still a fascinating show with a lot to remember in the history such as Brock Lesnar's victory, Rock & Austin final match, Austin's retirement, and HBK's return.

Score - 8 out of 10: Really Really Good

0 = Terrible: 1 = Bad/Lackluster: 2 = Decent: 3 = Good: 4 = Awesome: 5 = One of the best of all time:

1. Rey Mysterio vs. Matt Hardy: Cruiserweight Championship - 2.5/5

2. A-Train & Big Show vs. Undertaker (Handicap Match) - 2/5

3. Jazz vs. Trish Stratus vs. Victoria: Women's Championship - 2/5

4. Chris Benoit & Rhyno vs. World's Greatest Tag Team vs. Los Guerreros (WWE Tag Team Championship) - 2/5

5. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho - 3.5/5

6. Triple H vs. Booker T: World Heavyweight Championship - 2.5/5

7. Hulk Hogan vs. Mr. McMahon (Street Fight) - 3/5

8. The Rock vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin - 4.5/5

9. Brock Lesnar vs. Kurt Angle: WWE Championship - 4.5/5

Best Match - Brock Lesnar vs. Kurt Angle

Worst Match - A-Train & Big Show vs. Undertaker

Most Memorable Moment - Stone Cold's farewell to the fans.

Top 5 Performers

1. Kurt Angle

2. Brock Lesnar

3. Stone Cold

4. The Rock

5. Shawn Michaels.

Wrestlemania 19

Warning: Spoilers
One of the very strong wrestlemanias and a rare wrestlemania ..there were no crap matches.

1. Matt Hardy Vs Rey Mysterio

7/10 Very good cruserweight action even though Matt hardy isn't a cruserweight.

2. Undertaker and Nathan Jones vs Big Show and Albert

6/10 Not great, but good limp biz kit performed which made it a bit better, a train doesn't deserve to be in a wrestlemania match with undertaker.

3. Victoria Vs Trish Vs Jazz WOMENS TITLE

7.5/10 Once again proof Trish is the best diva of all time .looks moves charisma she has it, this was the best womens title match I've ever seen, i don't usually care for the title but i did in this match, the crowd were so into it that the end result was greeted to an enormous cheer from the sacofield crowd, who were awesome all night.

4. Charlie Haas and Benjamin vs Los Guerreros Vs Benoit and Rhyno WWE TAG TITLE

7/10 Good tag team match normally these tag matches with 3 or more teams tend to suck but this didn't,Benjamin was impressive as was Benoit.

5. Shawn Michaels vs Chris Jericho

8.5/10 Its Jericho and hbk so obviously your gonna get a blockbuster ,super match with great crowd pleasing ..look out for Jericho's hbk type flip up ...crowd were into it all the way as they were the whole pay per view except for one match which we will get to.

6. Triple H Vs Booker T

5/10 Not a very good rivalry ..booker t hasn't got enough fan acclaim to be main eventing against trips at wrestlemania..the result was the most predictable in wrestling history....an average match which the crowd mulled over. NOT GOOD FOR RAW

7. Hulk Hogan Vs Vince STREET FIGHT

8/10 considering both men are over 50 this was a very good match... the will to bleed was great , the crowd were well into it .sylvain Grenier came out to add some nice toppings....then a SHOCK SHOCK RETURN..watch to see it ...overall a classic street fight from the two men who made wwe what it is today.

8. Steve Austin Vs The Rock

8/10 Not as amazing as their wm17 encounter but obviously it was still awesome as its rock Austin ..these two click like a mouse..fabulous match..the usual false finishes which add excitement.. crowd was 50 50 which added to the spectacle ...top match

9. Brock Lesnar Vs Kurt Angle

7.5/10 Not as good as i thought it would be but nevertheless miles better then hhh booker, angle as USUAL performs well lesnar who i always hated up till this match was impressive...plus lesnar almost dies

Can Easily Be Argued As The Greatest 'Mania Ever
SickkSteve1874 August 2003
54,087 fans jammed Seattle's SAFECO Field on March 30, 2003, for certainly one of the greatest WWE productions that I, personally, have ever seen. Now I'm not going to get into any intricate comparison on what is THE greatest WrestleMania of all time, but I will say that this was a beautifully crafted, technical and nostalgic event. Let's get to the action, shall we?

Cruiserweight Championship Matt Hardy vs. Rey Mysterio

A fast-paced kick-off to this event; great opener. Mysterio displayed his always amazing aerial prowess, and Hardy showed us why he is one of the more valuable players in the WWE. Time didn't effect this one for me as there was much more to come. 6.5/10

The Undertaker vs. Big Show & A-Train

Will Undertaker's unprecedented WrestleMania streak FINALLY be broken by the terrifying duo of the new Natural Disasters?? (note the sarcasim)Surprisingly not that bad a match if you consider some of the talent involved here. I don't like Limp Bizkit that much, but they complimented Taker's entrance quite nicely here. 5/10

Women's Championship Victoria vs. Jazz vs. Trish Stratus

This match just shows that the Women's division is getting better and better each year. Great action in this match; I'm going to go out on a limb and call this the best women's match of all-time (no bullsh*t) Great performance by all involved, even Steven Richards who unfortunately will never get anywhere by wearing those little pink tights (haha) 6.5/10

WWE Tag Team Championship Team Angle vs. Los Guerreros vs. Chris Benoit & Rhyno

Why, oh why did Benoit get shafted into midcard hell on the biggest card of the year? The same goes for Guerrero, but he and Chavo work well as a tag-team. Anyways, these three teams were great as always; I'm really impressed at how much Team Angle has evolved recently. I had no problems with this match, except for the amount of time that was given. Great contest nonetheless. 7/10

Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho

What can I say about this match other than it was just beautiful. Some may criticize it's pace, but it built-up well over time, and actually told a story. The selling was very believable, and I could almost feel Jericho's ongoing urge to show and prove he is better than his childhood hero. Everything was great about this contest, from the background story to the moves to even the lighting used. The definate show-stealer here. Simply Amazing. 9.5/10

World Heavyweight Championship Triple H vs. Booker T

Now this one was quite a shocker to me. Definately Triple H's best perfomance in 2003. Booker was great as usual. I loved how the Harlem Hangover and Indian Deathlock were pulled out. Flair was hilarious as usual, and King was at his comedic best in this one. Great match that represented Raw quite nicely. 7.5/10

"20 Years in The Making" - Street Fight Vince McMahon vs. Hulk Hogan

The most-billed match on the card without a doubt. I didn't expect much from this, but it was just what it needed to be. A shocking return (although i wish they hadn't used HIM on later television) and a great bump made this worth it. Ohh, and I can't forget Vince's sick, bloody impression when he looks over the ring apron...that was pure GENIUS. Haha the finger he gave Hogan after the match was funny as well. A brutal, bloody and barbaric street fight. 8/10

Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. The Rock

This match was no where near as good as their match at X-Seven, but I will stop comparing and say that it added to this unbelievable card very well. Some funny moments here, from the new and improved HEEL Rock (yea) and the ending was very well-done and came as a shock to the crowd. You can always expect a great match from these two. 7.5/10

WWE Championship Kurt Angle vs. Brock Lesnar

Well, here it is, a wrestling purist's dream. Olympic Champion vs. NCAA Champion. Two of WWE's best going at it for the richest prize in the game. This match was great, especially considering how Kurt Angle was risking paralysis by competing; he is one of the most gutsy, professional and inspirational wrestlers ever, no doubt about it. I also appreciate the fact that the rookie Lesnar continued the match in a concussed state after somewhat of a blown spot that made yours truly CRINGE. As a matter of fact, I was cringing during the entire match. So Angle walks in risking his health, and Brock leaves almost just as bad - how ironic is that? Great main event to end of the show! 8.5/10

Overall, WrestleMania XIX was wonderful and should be considered one of the greatest of all-time (comes close with X-Seven) The extras weren't anything special but damnit why couldn't John Cena spit his freestyle on the actual show rather than on Heat which I missed? Oh well, anyways, WrestleMania XIX is a sick event that culminated a year of hard work and dedication. Recommended to everyone, even if you don't follow wrestling.

Final Rating: 9/10

Peace

If I watched it on Tv, it would have been ok. But it was really good because i got to see it live in Seattle. My favorite match was HBK Vs. Shawn Michaels. That was a good match. I would give this PPV 8/10. Limp Bizkits performance was ok too.

Warning: Spoilers
*SPOILERS!!!*

Not a bad show, not as good as No Way Out, waaay better than the Royal Rumble, though I expected more from the Superbowl of the WWE. the best match was by far Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho...BRILLIANT work by both men, nice job guys. the dissapointment of the night (in my opinion) was either Austin losing to Rock, and Baby Brock sucking on Vinces nipple some more to get back the World Title. Absolutly pathetic, but, nice show. Hogan and Vince dragged a bit, Booker T and Triple H was action packed, fairly good PPV.
