So sad and stressful at times
Irishchatter23 November 2014
Warning: Spoilers
This movie really gave pointers of how an unsuccessful marriage would affect the whole family. To be honest I thought Eve and Renee shouldn't have made out on the floor when found out because it didn't seem appriotate for this film. I think the writers and directors shouldve made them told the husband that way it wouldn't have confused a bit of the film. Anyhow I think the husband wasn't really right for Renee at all! When he was talking to Renee and Eve, it was like he was still the one for Renee and not Eve. Both girls were much more in love then ever before! I was feeling really sorry for Renees daughters that their parents were separating all because of a Lesbian love.

Also Eve's girlfriend was so annoying that I skipped a few parts whenever she appeared. She didn't even appear to be the 'ex girlfriend', she was like some drunk girl off the street wanting to get back at Eve. The only person that really stood out of the movie including Eve and Renee was definitely the friend Michael. He was so supportive and he is so cute like. Anyone would want a friend like Mike, I know I definitely would!

Don't Do It
DestinyDeferred24 December 2005
There is nothing about this movie to recommend it...and a million reasons to avoid it like the plague...and you would probably have a better time with a plague.

First of all, the soundtrack is so awful and overly loud that it often drowns out the movie, which would be a great thing if the soundtrack didn't want to make you pull your hair out. The plot is tedious and frankly it's all been done before, and done much better. The cast is wholly unappealing, the acting is amateurish and there is not an iota of chemistry between the stars. It claims to be "character driven" but the characters are caricatures that are only there for story purposes.

Avoid Avoid Avoid. Rent the magnificent "When Night is Falling" or the wonderfully hokey lesbian cult favorite "Desert Hearts" instead.

Keep away
volkovina27 November 2008
This is one of those movies that has to be avoided by all means, if you see it you will regret wasting an hour and a half of your precious time.

The story is unconvincing not only because the acting is lousy, but also because of the lack of chemistry between all the actors/actresses. In addition, the dialogue is ineffective in conveying any kind of emotion we - as the audience - are supposed to perceive because it deals with the main issue in a very superficial (and may I even say ridiculous) way.

Not worth your time, this movie is pathetic.

The pain still lingers!
BellyWho23 June 2007
If ever you want to render a woman heterosexual - have them watch this move! Lawdy May! How did the script reading ever win any awards? The story line is slow and more like a comic book strip - without the advantage of a superhero.

In defense, I have to say I like some of the exterior shots. There was depth and warmth and chemistry - a perfect juxtaposition, highlighting the lack of such qualities among the actors.

The acting was plausible - if I was to believe they were playing the role of an actor rather than anything vaguely associated with a character. I've seen better character portrayals in infomercials.

A brave first effort. Things can only get better!

I liked it!

Warning: Spoilers
I saw it first at Cinequest. Then bought the DVD when it came out: for some reason they couldn't find it at Blockbuster even though their computer showed it was in as their release of the week. The DVD was overly dark in some outside scenes which I didn't remember being so at the screening.

I showed it to guests from out of town. They enjoyed it although at first wary, thinking it might be too explicit - it wasn't, and isn't. It could be shown to children without concern. It's an open and honest story. I not only felt for the main character, but for her husband. It is an unresolvable issue - for whose happiness should you root. I think about it now and then, which I guess is a kudos for the movie.

Very real, finally
tortoisewoman1 November 2005
Warning: Spoilers
I felt this movie was very realistic, a situation I could relate too. I loved that the story and the characters were down to earth, making real mistakes and making real decisions and we get to see the consequences of those decisions. It's funny even in the drama, I liked that a lot. It was amazing to see the similarities between the girlfriend and the husband. Watching it with the director's commentary and then the interview extras was very cool to see...how the story was crafted, how the actors felt about certain scenes. The love scenes were sweet and romantic, not typically animalistic which was such a relief. So, I hope there's more where this came from...movies that actually talk to me and not down to me.

Respect
coltjessica25 June 2022
I always pay homage and respect to the OGs doing these movies for our LGBT community when we had little to nothing. Be it good, great, or even not so good... I stillwater most grateful to have something in a time it was so difficult to find our stories and for filmmakers to get done and get an audience. Thank you to all who made it.
