doesn't get much worse

This movie can be described as one of the most poorly done films i have ever seen. Imagine you and your friends dressed as gangsters running around acting like you own the world taped on your parents video recorder.

Now I've seen a lot of trash but this adds meaning to "crap" on a whole new level.

Let me start with the acting....Actually, i can't start there because I'm going to be here all day describing how low this movie gets.

Maybe it was the budget...maybe it was the actors straight off the street....maybe even the cap guns they use, bought at the local super market. No its probably how the actors seem to make up their lines on the spot.

All i have to say is that the "film" it was recorded on is worth more than the actual movie.

That said, at least i was laughing very hard at this "try hard" gangster flick....Actually no...i was in shock it could be that bad.

Not even 2 cops with some sort of syndrome could make me laugh enough to give this movie anymore than a 1.

Lords Of The Donuts

This movie's opening scene contains a scene of graphic violence as a massive dude continually punches a little dude and the audience hear the constant smack , smack , smack of knuckle upon cheekbone . What is instantly clear is

1 ) It's not a comedy

2 ) It not a bio-pic on Audley Harrison

If you don't like violence then you won't like this and might want to pop down to the DVD store . What also becomes quickly clear is that if you enjoy good acting , good directing and good production values then you might also want to take a trip to the DVD store

DRUG LORDZ is a revenge thriller that gives the impression that it's a home movie . Film makers deserve great credit for guerrilla movie making and sometimes like NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD legends are born but more often than not awaits all concerned . The problem with this is that it contains a premise that would probably only work if it was made by a studio with professional actors who know how to put inflexion in their lines and sets that resemble say a police station rather than the local high school who very kindly allowed filming thinking it was going to be used as an Oscar winning drama . One in fact wonders what the reaction might have been if kindly giving their permission to their locale being used the owners found that this is a film about violent foul mouthed homies seeking revenge

The fact that there's zero budget involved means that the screenplay has to do all the work and if that isn't enough to hold the audience attention on any level then the whole film will collapse to the point of collapse and guess what ? Is that the sound of a collapsing movie ? I think it is . That said there is some faint amusement in audience participation in replying to the banal lines coming from the characters mouth as in:

" Ah'm gonna take that fool out " Well if you're taking him out on a romantic date to the cinema I wouldn't recommend this film

or

" I've just thought of something we haven't tried yet " Oh yeah ? Would that be acting or dieting dear ?

Great opening, great middle, and great ending!

I heard this movie was shot on HD so I wanted to check out how it came out. I was very impressed. it looked as clean if not better than 35mm film. Australians should stick to Shrimp on the Barbies not reviewing because this flicked kicked some gangster ass. It's about two rival drug lords who are fighting each other and these white cats that are pouring fuel on the fire. Non stop dope action and a pretty damn good soundtrack too. Check it out if you see it. Hey, it's only a $4 rental right? DRUG LORDZ is your basic flick where we get lots of criminals doing criminal things to each other. If this kind of stuff happened more often in real life, the police would have very little to do. Our story begins with Oakland Drug Lord Salvador Castro torturing the crap out of some poor bastard. He forces the guy to off himself so Castro winds up in the joint. Flash forward to Castro's release date and he comes out to a very changed world. Entrusting his younger brother Richard with his dope business, he discovers that business has fallen off. The San Francisco drug lord Darryl has been muscling in on the Bay Area territory. Now Castro's out and he wants his turf back. To make things more interesting, it seems that the guy that Castro offed in the prologue has got family. Family that wants Castro dead. Now what would be the best way to off a west coast drug lord? That's right. Gang war. It doesn't hurt that the two brothers use the racial tension with Castro's Hispanic drug runners and Darryl's black muscle men. They both want nothing more than to make mountains of cash by preying on the drug addled community. But if it comes right down to it neither one is afraid to ignite the fuse that will lead to war.
