One of the celebrities Dennis targets is Woody Allen, who is with Soon-Yi Previn. Paul Kaye later had a small role in Allen's film Match Point (2005). The film crew spotted Allen walking down the street by chance and Kaye was reluctant to approach him because, as a big fan of his, he didn't want to offend him, but his producer forced him to do it because they'd been in New York for several weeks and had produced very little usable footage.
When Dennis meets Woody Allen, before leaving he says "I feel like I've known you all my life. Take care, dad." This is because the character of Dennis was inspired somewhat by Allen, mainly the voice and the glasses. The rest of Dennis' appearance was inspired by John "Johnny Rotten" Lydon.
When Dennis (Paul Kaye) approaches Danny DeVito at the Cannes Film Festival, he is riding in a classic American convertible car with his L.A. Confidential (1997) co-star James Cromwell. Cromwell later co-starred with Kaye in Blackball (2003).
