They are at the top of their powers.

Phenomenal and poignant tale that can easily become maudlin but here is handled with exquisite precision. E.G. Marshall and Geraldine Page are superb as the long-embattled couple; Timothy Bottoms, Doris Roberts, Pamela Payton Wright among other round out a stellar cast matched ideally to their characters. The Ketti Frings adaptation of this haunting novel will imprint images that have lasted decades for this viewer. Wolfe is much under-appreciated in American literature but this version should be preserved and revered, particularly for literature/ drama teaching as well as superior entertainment.

An American Classic with a cast, adaptation writer and director all of whom remain unmatched...this flawless version of "Look Homeward Angel" endures. Please make this DVD available for sale and preserve it for the next generation, that they might grow to know Thomas Wolfe and appreciate the radiant, infused performances.
