funny and fun!

Loved it!!Saw a screening in NY. Great cast, great acting, directing! I would recommend it to anyone interested in Hollywood/fame. If you like Entourage, you got to see this one. The Player meets Big Picture...Love Sally Kirkland and Daphne Zuniga is awesome. Damon Shalit looks like he is going to be around for a while after this picture. Anyone know anything about him? Eddie Albert is one of the best actors out there and Renee Taylor has this scene that almost steals the movie! Also Joanna Garcia is so cute! She is the girl on the Reba show. Well directed also, all the acting was very good, testament to the director Shira-Lee Shalit. Great soundtrack!

An inside look at the business of show business!
Anewactor27 March 2006
Saw the film last night at the "Sundays in the City" film festival here in New York City and was blown away! The acting and directing was top notch and the plot was off the hook! It was simply enjoyable to watch! The celeb cameos are a hoot as well! The film covered a variety of topics within the entertainment business which I, as an actor (as well as anyone for that matter) can relate to. Damon Shalit (Lead actor) has spectacular charisma and really makes the character "Darren" his own, bringing him to three dimensional life. This film has the perfect combination of comedy and drama which makes it work very well for the entire cast and director! If possible, see it! You won't be at all disappointed!

Universal Fantasy
REDOGLEAD20 May 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I saw this little gem at a studio screening in LA last year. I was pleased to see that it didn't fall into the "jack of all trades - master of none" category so may independent movies suffer from. It was first rate in every respect including writing, directing, and acting. The lead actor nailed his performance as did the entire cast from A-lbert to Z-uniga!

Who couldn't relate to a movie about a kid from nowhere reaching for the brass ring and getting caught in it! Talk about a universal fantasy! (It nailed mine!) While the movie's filled with hardcore Hollywood realities it explores them without dashing A-list dreams. There's a lot of the same dry humor here that I loved in "Swimming with Sharks." Bottom line: This movie has class. I went in with no expectations and left on a total high!

Great cast - and matching movie.

Damon Shalit who created this movie really managed to get some interesting name actors in it. Interesting script, really good performances make it a 10.

The inside look in the show-business is probably the most interesting part of the script and before Damon Shalits take-off in the business, I had the privilege of working with him in the night-club scene in Hollywood and that is likely because of his experience on that topic, that makes the movie authentic and interesting. Since Ebert checked out - I guess I'll have to give Damon Shalit two thumbs up myself for this real portrait of Hollywood. Hopefully, there will be a sequel - I'd be looking forward to that.

Easy viewing, feel good film

One of my roommates happened to be watching this on a random Wednesday night and all 6 of us got into it. It's a fun, quirky take on the realities of life in Hollywood. Easy to watch and get into. Some drama that is realistic and right on. Olga (Sally Kirkland) shines as only she can. Newcomer Damon Shalit (who IS this guy and where can we get more of him?!?) is easy on the eyes and talented. This guy looks like he will be around awhile.

Nice movie to watch with friends. A must checkout for anyone trying to break into any sought after profession. Scenes look like they were filmed on actual Hollywood streets in actual Hollywood style (not fake super chic pretend Hollywood).

Excellent movie for date night or with friends

Wonderful movie..storyline was great - not too heavy. Acting was well done and the humor was good. Storyline was memorable and the producer & director did a fantastic job. I felt completely entertained and was able to take a date as well as several friends and we were all very pleased with this movie. The actors and actresses were well suited to there roles and and did an excellent job. If you are looking for a movie to please a variety of individuals with different personalities - this is your movie. No violence or profanity were another plus. Will definitely be taking more friends to see this one. I am giving this movie a perfect 10 rating for excellence in producing, directing, and great choice of actors and the soundtrack was well thought about. Damon Shalit & Shira-Lee Shalit work very well together and hope we will see more of their work soon.
