Thorsten Flinck revealed in the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet that he used drugs during the production of the film to cope with some difficult scenes.
This movie was first supposed to be filmed in the US. Christina Aguilera was the first choice of playing Sanna Bråding's character "Tess" and Sylvester Stallone would be offered to play Thorsten Flinck's character "Rickard".
Had a "disturbing images" warning by the Swedish censors, on the movie posters in Swedish theaters. That had not happened since Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom (1975) was released.
The cast and crew agreed not to reveal anything about the film until one week before its premiere (17 September 2004 in Sweden).
