Dated but solid story of Joseph Smith's three witnesses
mike-ryan4559 March 2008
The movie doesn't present itself as a drama with a plot. It presents itself as a dramatization of history.

According to Mormon belief, three witnesses were shown the golden plates of the Book of Mormon.

All three of them left the Mormon church at one point or another. The central theme of the movie is three accounts that are legally admissible testimony.

The movie isn't Lawrence of Arabia. It was done by a university drama department. It's dated, but it is old enough to have earned that dated look honestly. When it was made the hot movies were Rosemary's Baby, Guess Who's Coming To Dinner and The Graduate.
