I really didn't know much about South Park, considering I was only 6 years old when it came out (yeah, so what if I'm only 13 now. Bet you didn't know this show appealed to the 13 year old girl audience). All I knew were the negative things: the cute little kid Kenny died in almost every episode, lots of swearing, horrible animation, stuff like that. After watching this special, I learned that the show was a lot more than that. There were touching episodes and episodes about real issues. So, after I watched the special, I decided to go rent the South Park movie, "South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut" (the name alone obviously turns most people off) and see what I thought. The movie was pure genius, and was actually a musical, which is seemed SO anti-South Park to me. So, after seeing the awesome movie I bought 3 seasons on DVD (40 bucks each, ouch..) and started watching the episodes that were on Comedy Central on Wednesdays at 10:00. Then, knowing that I was missing a ton of episodes, I was able to get my hands on seasons 1-7 on computer disks.
Anyways, I've seen this special 3 times now: before I knew about South Park, after I'd seen the movie and seasons 1-3, and now that I've seen practically every episode, seen the movie, and have spent almost $200 on South Park merchandise. It's a really cool special that brings out the finer points of the show.
WARNING: after watching this special, you WILL want to watch the show. THE SHOW IS EXTREMELY ADDICTIVE. Watch with caution.
