Very cute cartoon Warning: Spoilers
I usually don't watch this kind of animated series, but "Peep and the Big Wide World" captured my attention from the very first time than I saw it.

Originally, I was interested in this series mostly for the artwork style (Which is pretty cute and well done, with simplistic but very appealing designs and a lovely use of colors) but eventually I started to like the characters and the stories.

This is a very nice show for the whole family, with many interesting qualities that made this very enjoyable for the kids and the adults as well. I highly recommend this cartoon to anyone.

Cute Little Show

I love this show. It is very colorful with simplified characters which is easier for kids to perceive. By far the best and most recognizable things about Peep and the Big Wide World is the amazing music and the voice acting. Joan Cusack has a lovely voice and narrates perfectly and along with her, Jamie Watson who does the voice for Quack is OUTSTANDING. He gives so much personality to this sassy little duck and it fits perfectly. The voices for chirp and peep and the others are also great for their roles and the adventures they all go through are fun to watch and I like the real life anecdotes and experiments as well.

Love this show!

As many parents know, toddlers and preschoolers want to do things over and over and over again! That includes watching their favorite TV programs. As a result, I've seen most of the Peep episodes at least 3 times each with my daughter (2 1/2).

She loves this show and I do, too. I like the science aspect of it. That is unique to children's programming for this age, I think.

And as the other mother said in an earlier review, I OFTEN laugh out loud. Especially at "Quack". His sarcastic, self-centered personality is just so funny!!

A good show for kids of all ages. Highly recommended. :-)

Very Funny Show!
LadyGlamSlam23 May 2006
Although I myself am way over the age of 3, with no children of my own, I feel that Peep and the Big Wide World is classic children's educational television. The lessons are intelligently woven into light-hearted comedic situations featuring Peep, Quack, and Chirp. The characters themselves are absolutely adorable and get into all sorts of trouble exploring the world around them. Quack is the quirky smart-alec, Peep is the "middle bird", and Chirp is the energetic, sometimes a little wild bird. Children and adults in general will all enjoy this show and perhaps may find themselves in characters in the "big wide world".

One of the few kid shows that I still find myself still coming back to!

Even as an 18-year old I absolutely adore this show. It's been one of the few things that stuck with me from my childhood. Whenever I just want to escape from the news or world events I simply watch this show. It's heart-warming, cute, and Quack is still absolutely hilarious. This show was a big part of my childhood and I still adore it to this day! Kids will love it.

A show for anyone with a child's heart.

I love this show! Each character has a very distinct personality that makes them intriguing, endearing, and entertaining to watch. The animation is very fluid with exaggerated motions that you can only describe as cute and the color scheme is bright but still pleasing to the eye. Although the characters and settings are very simplistic it's all part of the charm. It's a great show for kids to build curiosity and learn a little about science and math, and etc...

Even though my sister and I are college students we enjoy watching this show because it's funny, silly, and cute. And we couldn't help but fall in love with the characters, the way they interact with each other, and their friendship.

This is the go-to for the kid's first tv show
kinggrave-410949 July 2023
Man I cannot wait to have a kid because the first thing I'm doing when they are 2-3 and are fully conscious most of the time is playing this show. OBVIOUSLY for them but ALSO for me because even as a 17 year old, this show is amazing. Simple designs but perfectly utilised with amazing colours and really REALLY cute characters. The theme song is also such a banger as well it's just such a bop. Peep is freaking adorable, innocent and wonderfully naive. Chirp is smart and her and peep have a really cute relationship on screen. I saw someone compare it to SpongeBob and Patrick and while they are birds, they both seem to be a similar age and are also keen to discover new thing. And quack is the relatable one who is also a great character. Sarcastic, arrogant and self obsessed, he is a great contrast to the other two birds and always has them in heart even if it doesn't seem it. You can tell the show was made in good heart and a lot of care went into it as well. There are not many continuity errors and this just warms my heart, AND THE VOICE ACTING. I absolutely love it. Starting off with the narrator Joan Cubank. Perfect voice for a show like this and it fits so well. Next, peep. Although peeps VA changed 2 times, they all do a really good job of grasping the innocent voice of a young child. I personally adore the first 3 seasons with the first VA but season 4 and 5 are still really good. Chirps VA is also really good and definitely is perfect for that person that seems to know a lot but also doesn't know EVERYTHING. And finally quack. Well his VA perfectly encapsulates the characteristics of quack. His little remarks and his muttering to himself of how he and ducks are the best and his songs. Although it can seem annoying it really isn't because you have the sweet release of chirp and peep to bring the cuteness back and override the occasional annoying part. I think I said it all, 10/10 show. This was my childhood. I'm getting teary eyed just thinking about it, I want it back :(. Well I'm done pouring my heart out for my favourite kids tv show. And as I started my review, I am showing this to my kid and hopefully they enjoy it as well and end up writing a review on imdb 15 years later.

Cute but Annoying
eatcrowepls4 August 2018
This is a cute show but it wears thin really quick and gets incredibly annoying to any adult. The voices and stories and music just grate on my ears. Some kids even get annoyed and bored with it. If your kids do like it, turn it on but not too loud and only when you're going to be in the other room doing chores or something or you'll end up super annoyed at it. I will say this though, Joan Cusack is AMAZING even just doing the narrator's voice work in this.

Cutest show on television!

Nothing is better than a duck! Nothing is smarter than a duck! WE LOVE QUACK! My two-year old and I love to watch Peep and the Big Wide world. It's actually on as I'm writing this. The animation is simple and adorable. And who has ever seen a blue (purple) duck like Quack before? He is hilarious. Joan Cusack is the best narrator possible for this show. I love her anyways, but to have her humorous voice in a child's show has made my month! IT'S GREAT! We wish the videos were available to purchase in the UK, though, so we can watch whenever we feel like it...Three times a day just isn't enough some days. Besides, my husband still hasn't seen it yet because of work and I keep telling him about it.

PEEP AND THE BIG WIDE WORLD is fun and stimulating for children and adults alike. Watch the crazy antics of this trio and you're sure to have a laugh with your child.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR ANY TODDLER, YOUNG CHILD, OR GENERAL CARTOON LOVER!!

What a great show for children and parents!
lizabeth51 April 2006
We all love "Peep!" My daughter got a "Peep" DVD set for her 2nd birthday two weeks ago, and we have literally been watching it ever since then. She loves it, and my Husband and I find the show very entertaining. The show is educational, of course, but has enough humor in it that everyone can enjoy it...it succeeds at entertaining all ages, a rare thing, indeed!

The simple animation and bright colors of "Peep" appeal to young children while the plots convey simple scientific principles that will enrich their minds. The animated segments are supplemented by real-life sequences which employ the scientific facts imparted in the cartoon. These live sequences will give children and parents some great ideas for trying out their own scientific experiments.

In conclusion, I cannot recommend this program highly enough. As Quack might say, this is a fine specimen of television programming! Enjoy!

Wonderfully amusing and fun show!!
jdunham329 April 2004
My daughter and I love to watch Peep together. It is so amusing, informative and well written. I am a little embarrassed to admit that I often find myself laughing out loud at the antics of Peep, Chirp and Quack. The narration by Joan Cusack is delightful. I am glad the opportunity to introduce my toddler to the wonderful talents of one of my favorite actresses.

The live action sequences dealing with science and nature have given us lots of ideas for fun outside play that keeps my daughter's interest.

The shows on Discovery Kids really are wonderful and Peep is a great addition.

Peep Rocks!
adiratyree6 February 2006
The funniest, smartest & cutest kid's show to come along in a LONG time!!!! A wonderful way to show science to the little ones that is totally entertaining and never complicated.

Quack is my favorite, with his "duck wisdom" sayings. He's funny, sometimes stubborn, but always his heart is in the right place. Chirp is smart and is the balance to Quack, but Chirp doesn't know it all yet and that leads to fun discoveries with Peep. Peep is the wide eyed-innocent, newly hatched chick and is sweet, but isn't sickening sweet--he sees things as they are when first seeing them:curious & without prejudice.

The animation is simple enough when it comes to Quack (a big blue EGG shaped duck) with a hat (HILARIOUS!) and I like that he and Peep do not have "hands" or wings--they have to find other ways to do things--like using their feet, bodies and heads.

We tape this show for my 4 year old and we, the adults, are the ones to watch it! You will like it too!

Fantastic Show for Preschoolers
jeanine-208 March 2006
Peep is my daughter's favorite show, hands down. She is now 3 1/2 and has been watching it for over a year. It is the first show she asks for in the morning and the first one she wants after nap/rest time.

Her dad and I have seen every episode that has played on TLC (more than twenty times each), and we keep at least 10 or so on TIVO. We often find ourselves quoting Quack lines throughout the day.

We even used craft clay to make (and bake) our own Peep, Chirp, and Quack. Now she's asking if we can make the rest (Newton, the Ants, Squeak, Madame Hoot, etc.) It is a wonderful program, and we cannot wait to see new episodes!

Oh, and today she has asked me for some string, tape, a straw and two empty plastic bottles to make her own "experiment".

Great show for kids
Eminenima28 September 2010
Of the little TV I'll indulge my daughter in, this is probably our favourite. In fact, if I turn the TV on, she often asks for this show specifically.

My daughter is three and there is no shortage of crap television aimed at teaching her morality and safe play and etc etc (yawn.) Note to children's programmers: Don't teach my kids this stuff. That's my job. Your job is to entertain us.

And Peep does just that. Like a young child Peep is naive and every show is about her finding something banal (like snow or sand) for the very first time and showing us all how fascinating it can be.

What more can I ask for my three year old? This show is AWESOME.

I enjoy the show to the MAX
beehoney403 March 2006
I stumbled across the show by mistake one morning. I saw how my grandson was so interested so I allowed him to view it. I noticed that my grand child could benefit from the show as it is educational. Then I started watching it and now, I love it. Especially, that Quack! He makes the show! He is refreshingly funny with sarcasm and arrogance. Peep is as innocent as she should be and Chirp seems to be the most practical of the three. I have recommended the show to other parents/grandparents and they are now in agreeance with me. I only wish we had more times to view. Thanks to you all for presenting us with such an enjoyable program.
