Mildly interesting Thai horror flick.
HumanoidOfFlesh9 December 2005
Arawati was a beautiful girl among Khmer villagers cornered in battle. She was sentenced to death after being caught in a secret affair with a young soldier.Burnt alive, her soul remained in her head and bowels. At the same time in another town, village beauty Dao died. Tarawati's soul took the chance to occupy Dao's corpse. At night, her head and entrails join the occupied body to drift in the air looking for prey. The premise of "Krasue" is certainly interesting, but the special effects are weak and there is not enough gore. The acting is average at its best and CGI-animated flying vampiric head looks unconvincing.Frankly the film is pretty dull as it's filled with a lot of boring talk between the characters.Still the cinematography is gorgeous and there are some memorable moments including the fight scene between a flying vampire head with guts hanging underneath and cobra.Give it a look,if you have enough time to kill.6 out of 10.

A Story of Soul Transference
Uriah4329 March 2019
This film essentially revolves around two beautiful, young women who look like identical twins. The first is a Khmer princess who goes by the name of "Tarawati" (Lakana Wattanawongsiri) and is taken prisoner by a Thai king who forces her to become his wife. To complicate matters even further, she falls in love with one of the guards and upon eventually being discovered with him is sentenced to death. Before this transpires, however, a Khmer sorceress casts a spell upon Tarawati to save her soul. The scene then shifts to a small village some distance away in which another woman named "Daow" (also played by Lakana Wattanwongsiri) has just had a death spell cast upon her for refusing the advances of the son of an evil magician. By sheer coincidence, both Tarawati and Daow happen to die at the exact same time which releases Tarawati's soul directly into the body of Daow immediately bringing life back into her. Needless to say, the local villagers are shocked and surprised at Daow's resurrection from the dead but not long afterward some of them begin to realize that she isn't quite the same. What they don't know, however, is that every night her head and entrails detach from her body and seek the flesh and blood of a living animal which leaves the local villagers both startled and frightened when they discover the mangled corpses. Now rather than reveal any more I will just say that this was an interesting film which benefitted from the exotic scenery and unique folklore. Unfortunately, the special effects left much to be desired and greatly affected the film as a whole and it's because of this major defect that I have rated it accordingly. Slightly below average.
