A murder occurs at night and one of the opponents of the crime is wounded by a bullet and asks for help to a doctor, friend of Maigret. Who rapidly takes the affair in charge, as you can guess. The victim was a professional gambler married to a beautiful wife and who also had a male secretary. It will be revealed that the secretary was a whipping boy for the diseased. And this fact will be important for the following of the case. But nothing will be absolutely sure, although some more clues will appear to Maigret and his men. There will be more than a doubt and no crime weapon found. This is the only interesting point of this episode. Besides, nothing more. The usual routine stuff.
