Although the soldiers have their swords swapped with broomsticks, the room is still full of other weapons, like all the pikes and halberds on the walls. So why do the soldiers insist on using the broomsticks and other random items to fight with?
It seems incredibly reckless of Wolter van Oldestein to enter an enemy castle all on his own to break his spy out of the dungeon, especially since he clearly does so in full armor, which could have easily been spotted by enemy guards. When entering the castle, he immediately uses violence and starts shouting his name as a battle cry, making clear he is an important opponent of Guelders. It would have made much more sense to sneak into the castle in disguise.
When Floris protests that he never refused to pay toll and simply tried to take a short-cut, Van Rossum interrupts him angrily and tells him: 'I ask the questions here!' This reply makes no sense, since Floris was not asking a question at all.
