The original broadcast in 1969 was preceded by a 5 minute introduction by Pollo Hamburger in which he talks about doctors and surgery in the middle ages based on paintings and etchings from the period.
Scriptgirl Hetty Heist plays an uncredited role as the farmer's daughter who has fallen ill and is being treated by Sindala.
This story revolves almost entirely around Sindala rather than Floris. Usually both characters had about equal screen-time, but to give the actors some time off, one episode was written to focus on Floris and one on Sindala. However,, the episode that was to be feature Floris more prominently, "De Stille Stroper", originally scheduled to be episode 7, was left unfinished when production shut down prematurely.
Colorized photographs from this installment were used in the storybook titled "Floris en het verraad van Oldenstein" (1969), published by 'De Geïllustreerde Pers N.V.' In this book, writer Frans de Regt invented a new story based on pictures taken from various different episodes.
