Wow.....what a terrific little film

This one really caught me by surprise. When the short film began, I really had no idea that by the end I would be practically in tears! The film is about one very simple man's life and it consists of drawings you see him make throughout the years. The first is very simple and is made by a small child and as the film progresses, you see Lars grow and mature and experience many lovely events in his life. None of these things are earth-shaking and they happen to most all of us, but there is a real sense of beauty and purpose in this film.

There were some really amazing aspects of the film. Despite the poorly animated computer hand that appears to draw at the beginning, don't be fooled into thinking this is a simply animated film. Later, the drawings come alive and the camera moves about the pictures in a wonderful 3-dimensional way--in and out of houses, moving about the scene, etc.. Plus, having such terrifically evocative music really brought the most out of the film--producing a very, very strong emotional reaction within me. You really need to have some Kleenex nearby--just in case! The film shows such deftness that I can't wait to see what comes next from these talented people. Imagine such a simple idea told without words and yet it has such a profound impact!
