Nice bedtime movie.

Last night, it was 2.20 am, I began watching this movie. It surprised me a bit, because it was nothing like I expected. In the TV-guide there was just a little summary, that only described the first three minutes or so. But i enjoyed watching the movie.

This is a good french movie, not the best, as I have seen e.g. L'Appartement (with Vincent Cassel and Monica Bellucci), but still it was worth staying up late for. The typically french situation, in the french Alps, which I have visited a lot, gave me a sense of recognition. It was really like it is in the real world, the people lived exactly like the french do in the mountains, with one doctor in the whole city of 200 habitants.

The story of the film was good, but at some points I was looking for it. That was not a bad sign. The movie seemed far less complex than it eventually was, but all things cleared up at the end. There were predictable situations in the movie, but that is how life's like in the high mountains over there.

The acting was fabulous, it was like i was watching a home-video at all times, but than with major camera work - although there were only 'normal' shots, but these were put in such a lighting, that you really got the feeling of being in the movie. I really love Marina Alexandrova, as the Russian Lena and the doctor Robin Renucci set an unbelievably and unforgettable performance.

This is really a nice movie to watch when it's late and you don't want to go to bed already...
