Helps to have seen the film but it is still an interesting short film even if you haven't
I was quite taken by the animated film Dad's Dead and decided to watch this "making of" when I got the chance a few years later. In reality the film isn't a "making of" as you might expect but rather the director talking about his motivation for the film and his exploration of the estate and former home where he set his terrible Johnno character loose. Even without seeing the film this turns out to be pretty interesting because the link to the film is almost a secondary thing. Outside of this we are treated to a discussion around the discoveries and experiences on returning to this broken and forgotten council estate and the Chris Shepherd's thoughts do make for an interesting few minutes seeing how the animation was done would not have been as interesting to me personally.
Overall then it obviously helps to have seen the film itself but even if you haven't this is still a short and interesting walk onto a council estate in the presence of an interesting voice over.
