Banana Banana

Here's a peculiar movie. It's a silent production from 1935, a time when Hollywood had given up on silent movies for half a decade. The fact that it's from Castle Films may explain it; although when I knew them, Castle was a source of cut-down versions of cartoons and horror movies, they actually produced movies through the early 1940s, although usually they were short subjects.

This industrial movie about bananas covers their production, from planting the root stock in Guatemala through their consumption by youngsters to give them vitamins, minerals, and energy to win football games. This was probably intended for school room use.
