Learn more- Hari, an innocent young man from village is a Gold medalist in mathematics. He is awarded a scholarship by an I.T. company in city for his higher studies. Hari comes to live in city with his sister and brother in law. His sister is affectionate but can not stop her husband from ill treating Hari.
Major trouble starts when Hari falls in love with the company's heiress, Hema, a student of same college. Hema has no living parents and her guardian is an evil uncle who always plans to usurp her riches. Uncle protects Hema with body guards and waits for the day when he can appropriate her inheritance. The budding love affair becomes public in a very dramatic College event where the evil uncle gets invited as a chief guest. He grasps ìt all, gets angry and becomes instrumental in canceling the scholarship. Harì sells his gold medal to buy an expensive gift for Hema on her birthday but at the party, uncle orders his goons to isolate, attack and dump Hari, uncared. Hari looses on all fronts but he is picked up by a garage owner Jairaj who nurses Hari back to health and sympathizes with his love story. Hari works hard on all his weaknesses and wins back his family's love and tries to reunite with his lover Hema. But uncle plots along with his cohorts- a police commissioner, a lawyer, a doctor and an all obliging young man to break Hema's heart and create solid mistrust between the lovers. The evil gang even plan a beach front party to destroy Hema by drugging her and marry her off to another young man who is just a pawn in uncle's hands. But through a last minute intervention, Jairaj fights the evil villains and saves Hari and Hema. 'Yugala geetham' means 'a duet'.
