Plunkie drops the kids off at a studio for art lessons. The teacher, Nikki, is blind and she explains to the kids how she uses other senses to make her art. Twinkle decides she wants to make her mom a surprise piece of art. When Plunkie arrives to pick them up, Twinkle hands her art to Kip to hide. Kip panics and hands it to Wayne, etc. When the kids get home they realize they left Twink's art at the studio. How can Nikki bring the art over if she's blind. Enter the Seeing-Eye Dog to save the day./ Uncle Lemmo takes the kids and Fran to the Higglytown Diner for breakfast, where they hear the employees talking in a strange "code". Lemmo explains what slang is and the kids catch on quickly. Everybody orders eggs but it's soon discovered the diner is of eggs. They look everywhere with no luck. Enter Granpop Crink, who just happens to be an Egg Farmer. He drives his egg truck to the diner and stocks the fridge. Everyone sits down to a big breakfast full of eggs.

It's the day of Twinkle's big ballet recital and Wayne is dressed in his best outfit. Against his better judgement wayne joins the other kids for a game of Higglyball. Sure enough, he rips his pants. Just then his Mom calls him into the house. If she sees his ripped pants she'll be really mad. Enter the Tailor to save the day. He fixes the pants good as new./ Eubie's cousin Jax is visiting from the big city. The kids give a tour of Higglytown, pointing out things and asking if he has them in the city. Yes, Jax explains, the city has all these things and bigger buildings. Just then Pizza Guy drops by and says he's going to the new slide at the park. They all go and it's the biggest slide Jax has ever seen. He climbs to the top but gets scared. He can't slide or climb down. He's stuck. Enter Playground Monitor. She help him slide down and saves the day.

The Higgly kids are at preschool, getting ready to nap, when their teacher tells them that a new kid is joining the class. Now they're excited. Except Wayne, who's afraid the kid might be scary. Later in the day the teacher introduces Juanita. She's not scary. As a matter of fact, she's a lot like Wayne. They decide to ask her to play. But, when they talk to her, she only responds with "Que?". Fran realizes Juanita doesn't speak english. Enter the Translator. Juanita gladly accepts the invitation to play./ The kids are at Eubie's house playing "sing along with Flappy" when they hear a rumbling from the living room. It's Mellie & Zooter playing a strange instrument, getting ready to perform with the orchestra. The kids decide they want to be in an orchestra so they all get instruments but, when they play, they sound horrible. What are they going to do? Enter the Orchestra Conductor. He teaches the kids how to play together and they sound great. Mellie & Zooter join in to make music together.

The kids are playing in Wayne & Twinkle's sandbox when Plunkie calls them inside for lunch. Reluctantly they go inside but they all wish the same thing - to have lunch AND keep playing outside. The idea of a picnic comes up. After a song about what to bring, with sandwiches being tops, it's discovered that there's no bread! Eubie fed it all to the birds. They need a hero. Enter the Baker. He teaches the kids how to bake bread and the picnic is saved./ Eubie and friends anxiously await a package from Granpop Crink. After taking guesses at what it could be, the package arrives - it's a strange ball. They sing a song pondering what type of ball it is. Pizza guy enters, tells them it's a Higglyball and briefly explains the rules of the game. The kids play but, not knowing the rules well enough, don't have any fun. Enter the Sports Coach. He explains the concept of teamwork. The kids play again and have fun.

It's a rainy day and the kids are inside playing with Baby Pookie. They begin telling stories about when they were babies. Fran tells her tale. The kids can't believe Fran was ever a baby and want to know more. The rain lets up so they decide to hike to Fran's childhood home - a large tree in Higgly Forest. Along the trail they come across a skunk, a fallen tree and finally a washed out section of trail. Without the trail, how wil they find the tree. Enter Forest Ranger. She guides them./ The kids are at Kip's house playing with Shadow, a new dog. They're trying to teach him tricks. Fran show the kids a trick she knows. The kids ask how she learned it, but as she tells the story, they get scared by a mysterious thumping noise. They look but see nothing. Again they hear the noise but can't figure out where its coming from. Fran can't finish her story with the noise happening. Enter Detective. He concludes it's Shadow's wagging tail making the mysterious thumping.

Plunkie is reading the final few words of a PJ Butternut book to Twinkle. Then it's off to the library to help set up for a reading by Ms. Butternut herself. Twinkle rounds up the rest of the gang. After setting up chairs & a small buffet table, PJ arrives. But so do hundreds of kids. There's not enough food! Pizza guy makes a huge pizza and delivers it via a helicopter. But the pizza falls on the library and covers it. Enter crane operator. He uses his crane to lift the pizza and saves the day./ The kids & Fran are at the hardware store looking at paint. Uncle Lemmo is letting them pick the color for his fence. They decide on purple. Back at his house, they see Lemmo's neighbor Gloria painting the fence yellow. Lemmo and Gloria argue over who gets to pick the color of the fence. They can't decide. Enter the judge. He settles the dispute and tells them to compromise. They decide to paint half the fence yellow and half the fence purple. Everyone's happy.

Mellie, Zooter and the kids are driving through the countryside on the way to a hoedown. The kids ask "what's a hoedown". It's a big party, country-style with square-dancing replies Zooter. "What's a square-dance?" After a song explaining what it is, the kids are extra excited to get there. But a cow is blocking the road. They try to get it to move but it won't. If the cow doesn't move, they'll never get to the hoedow. Enter the Cowboy. He wrangles the cow and the gang makes it to the party in time./ The kids are in Eubie's room playing with his new Turbo 3000 Turbo sled. Fran arrives and informs the kids that it's snowing - they can sled for real outside. They all go to Higgly Hill and take turns trying to go the furthest. Fripp pulls up in his hotdog cart. The kids convince him to take a turn. He goes so far that he gets stuck in a snowbank. Once out, he tries to leave but his hot dog cart is now stuck in the snow. Enter the Snowplow driver. He clears the road and Fripp is off to sell his dogs.

The kids are having a HFST Club meeting but don't know what to do. They decide to ask Wiki & Tini what they do at their Helpful Spider meetings. Wiki & Tini tell about the pizza making contest they're having. The kids decide to have an ice cream sundae making contest and pick Kip to be judge. Later, with all the sundaes infront of him, Kip takes a spoonful of Wayne's entry. Kip grabs his mouth in pain. Kip has a cavity. If he can't eat ice cream, he can't judge the contest. Enter the dentist to save the day./ The kids are chasing a large ball in the park when Wayne spots a large lollipop on a candy cart. Wayne is in awe. He goes over to the cart as the rest of the kids play. Suddenly the ball is flying toward the cart. Wayne makes an amazing catch and saves the cart. The cart's owner gives Wayne the lollipop as a reward. After much licking, Wayne re-joins the kids at play. He crawls through a tunnel and the lollipop gets stuck in his hair. Enter the barber - he snips the lollipop out and even gives suckers to all the kids.

The kids are excited because they are taking a trip to the candy store. Along the way they begin counting things. Once at the candy store, they are overwhelmed by all the candy. But the best looking candy in in a jar on the counter. They all want to buy some but the owner tells them it's not for sale. It's part of a contest. Whoever guesses how many pieces of candy is in the jar wins. Their first guesses are way off. Enter Teacher- she helps them guesstimate and they win the prize./ Fran is reading the kids a picture book about a girl and her elephant friend. The kids wish they could see a real elephant and maybe be friends with it too. They go to the zoo and spot an elephant. The kids draw pictures for it but, just as they're about to show them to him, a gust of wind blows the pictures into the orangutan enclosure. How will they get their pictures back? Enter Zoo Keeper. She gets the pics from the orangutan and shows them to the elephant - who thinks they're great.

Fran is delighting the kids with her vine-swinging abilities. The kids want to swing too, but the vine isn't strong enough. Fripp decides to build five tire swings on the tree so everone can play. After a song they all hop on their new swings. The whole tree begins to tilt. Too much weight. Now the tree is leaning right over Fripps house and it might fall. Enter the Tree Trimmer. He trims some heavy branches and attaches a cable. The tree is ready for swinging./ Wayne's chocolate erupting volcano wins the school science fair. He wins ten coins. The kids sing a song about what he could do with the money. Wayne says he wants a new toaster but it costs 15 coins. He chooses to save his money until he has enough. But where should he put his coins in the meantime? He doesn't want to lose them. Enter the Banker. He expalins that a bank is the perfect place to keep his money until he has enough to buy the toaster.

It's baby Pookie's 1st birthday. The kids suggest having a party. Bitty agrees, but not until Pookie wakes up from her nap. After a song about how "it's not a party without friends", Pookie wakes up crying and won't stop. What could it be? Enter the Pediatrician. Turns out Pookie is teething. The Pediatrician rubs some salve on Pookie's gums and the crying stops. Now the party can begin./ The kids & other townsfolk are all flying kites on Higgly Hill when a gust of wind blows the Baker's hat up into the air. Eubie saves the hat and, as a reward, the Baker invites all the kids to his fancy restaurant for dinner. Eubie sings about the anticipation of going to a new restaurant. Once there they are all given menus. Only problem is the menu is full of exotic food they've never heard of. How will they order? Enter the Waiter. He explains.

You could blame Shadow, the dog, for being cute and you could also blame him for not having any manners;" Doggone it Shadow" Kip ruefully sings when Shadow makes off with his red flag for a school project. Even worse, Shadow sneaks into school with Kip and makes a mess of the whole day! Well enough is enough is enough when the Dog Trainer steps in to teach Shadow some doggy etiquette and a couple of new tricks to boot. Fetch Shadow!/ Ship Ahoy! The Higgly Kids are on a seafring adventure with Captain Steve and his Crew. On the high seas the kids learn about keeping the boat well maintained in a song called "Ship Shape Shanty", and later Captain Steve rewards their efforts with a Treasure Map. Hot on the treasure pursuit the ship runs into a big rolling head of fog ! Before things get too soupy, the Lighthouse keeper shines the crew's way back on track.
