A fascinating tale for kids and adults
dnsmithnc27 September 2006
This film is not a slick Hollywood production by any means but I believe this enhances the authenticity of a very good story. The acting too might appear a tad amateurish to those accustomed to Hollywood fare but again, this made the story seem more genuine. The part of the devil was done especially well with just enough malevolence. As a long time teacher in an elementary and junior high school, I can tell you the kids loved this film. And so did I. Every time I watched it, I saw something new and different. It entertains on a number of levels. There are subtle issues relating to good, evil and the source of redemption which is appealing to adults and, on the surface, it is a fascinating tale for the kids. I would highly recommend this as a worthwhile addition to any library or home collection. You will not be disappointed.
