I liked this movie a lot. It's one of the most realistic portrayals of teen life I've ever seen. There's a lot of crap that's aimed at kids in regard to advertising in TV and magazines and although people freak about the violence on TV and movies, nobody seems to worry about how things are sold to little kids and teens. This movie is like a small episode in a group of friends lives and how screwed up and messy things get just because of a status symbol like a sneaker brand. The actors in it are great, (I think one of the kids was a bully in the Daredevil movie with Ben Afleck) especially the girl who plays Darlene. With all the junk aimed at teens, this little movie actually poses some interesting questions. -M.L. Jimenex

Edgy look at inner city teenage life, via some sneakers

This is a funny little 'love triangle' movie. Well, sort of. The love object is a pair of sneakers. The dilemma begins when a girl comes between this kid, his sneakers and his friends
I really enjoyed this film. It reminded me a little of 'Raising Victor Vargas'. It has the same authenticity and great, brisk pace. The actors, who all look like 'real' teenagers, do a great job.The music works to create a great atmosphere too. A great, well-directed little gem.

A good little Movie

I saw this film at the Tribeca Film Festival. It's one of those great stories that sticks with you after you leave the theater. The cast was excellent. They were very believable. And the direction was very simple - no flashy tricks or
gimmicks, just the story.
I know it's not easy making a low budget film on the streets of Manhattan but this was as good as you get. I used to live in the area this was shot and know how crazy it can get down there! The locations were authentic and the sound mix
was very well done.
I also loved the music. It added another voice. It was if the music was the
narrator. They avoided the usual pitfalls of Indie movie making by not having some insane music all over the place.
I'd rather see movies like this than the usual crap that gets made. Well done!
