During the documentation of the final match in itself, there's a retaken shot of an "authentic" street scene with parked cars and motorcycles, nobody on the streets, just as it may have looked during the match. The trees have no leaves, these are brown and lying on the ground, indicating this additional shot was taken in autumn. The final match took place in summer, on the 4th of July.
With 6 minutes still to play and heavy rain, German radio reporter Herbert Zimmermann made a mistake by saying: 'the spectators, they do not hold out' ("die Zuschauer, sie harren nicht aus") when the spectators in fact did hold out. This radio footage is included in the film, but with the word "not" ("nicht") edited out. You can hear it when you play the movie at slow speed.
