awful Russian film

Warning: Spoilers
Despite my enthusiasm for small budget movies I would have to say that this is a crappy movie on all accounts. It is shot on digital camera that almost resembles black and white that far too often resorts to all black in order to achieve a creepy atmosphere. It deals with a web-designer that is threatened by some mysterious person/thing for no obvious reasons. The scary parts are characterized by an overzealous shaking camera and running through woods (hmmm, where have we seen that before?) and in essence fail to deliver any sort of sense of mystery or horror. The sudden and pretty lame twist at the end cannot help overcome the lack of good ideas and solid film-making that this production suffers from.

a digital thriller that changes your blood

... one of those films you can hardly breath while watching them ... you get nervous, you wanna snap your eyes shut and you feel something strange going up in your breast ... but you sit calm realizing these moments are worth experiencing... The same emotions Lynch's or Trier's films recall. After watching Mulholland Drive or Breaking The Waves your body is trembling, and your mind cannot definitely formulate the knowledge you've just received. It's a great feeling, and this is WHAT FOR cinema exists, to my mind. There are films difficult to watch and difficult to interpret, like in the real life there are things difficult to understand. Some people would call them vague or uncertain, but the thing is strength which is hard to resist. Silent Man gave me wisdom and power that changed all my life, and that was really a great gift.
