The plot is dictated by the law of return and the belief that one day justice reaches everyone. Sooner or later life will take care of giving the change, and everything one does one day turns against oneself.
A soap opera about and for the Brazilian worker. A story about people who win in life through their own efforts. A plot that brings Maria do Carmo, mother of five children, as the main spot, a person who won in life fighting for it, but a person which will have as her main battle finding her daughter, kidnapped a little time after she was born. A story about family conflicts and relations spiced with the rescue of values that the society no longer cares about. The plot is divided in two parts: the first one will be 1968, during the beginning of Brazil's Military Dictatorship, and last four and a half chapters; and the second one begins after a long time, the time we're living now.Written by
The story is strongly reminiscent of the "Pedrinho case" in which Vilma Martins Costa, a businesswoman, took away the infant Pedro Baule Pinto from his parents hours just a couple hours after his birth. The boy was 16 when Vilma's deeds were uncovered by the police and he could return to his biological parents. See more »
Senhora do Destino is a moving story of family and ethics. Susana Vieria is excellent as Maria do Carmo. The story is innovative in presenting flashbacks and linking the past and present. This is ultimately a story of love and family. The characters are so well written. I found the acting to be superb and was moved to tears often. The premise of losing a child is so sad but there is wonderful humor and irony often by the villain. Maria do Carmo is such a strong woman, who has strong beliefs, independence and passion. I found this plot to be excellent like Da Cor do Pecado. I think the best soaps definitely are developed in Brazil. If you have the opportunity to see this story it is a wonderful investment in time. I found that I missed the characters and felt the loss once the story was over. That is good writing and acting. Enjoy this ride because you won't be disappointed.
