I was surprised and delighted with this movie. I saw it at the Alice Film Festival and was not expecting the fresh take on dog behavior in such a simple and perfect story. The expressions that were captured on film, and the editing to show those particular expressions of the dog were flawless and perfect. The entire movie was very endearing and cute in an un-cute way if that makes sense? This was not a carebears or cutsy film, but genuine and real - exactly how a small dog behaves and capturing what makes everyone fall in love with dogs like that. I loved the scene of Hobbes looking out at the kids playing and barking - it really was like you were seeing what he was seeing....at least how it was portrayed. I recommend that anyone who has an opportunity to see this film at any film festival do so - you will not be disappointed, it has a way of reaching into the most cynical of hearts and touching something genuine.
