on channel 4 one night in 1993

I saw this on channel 4 one night in 1993, I remember because i had just started dating my husband! except he wasn't then.

we watched it together and right from the start we pressed record and had it on VHS for absolutely years......sadly it got thrown out with all the other VHS's and we really regret it.It was in 3 parts. it was called "About last night" on channel 4 but its called "Nights" officially. In my opinion this is a very timeless piece and very entertaining and is true today as it was then. Its about a neurotic girl who is going thru the motions of a new relationship. It is told in claymation and real actors. In fact if this was shown on telly to this generation today nothing would be a miss. i wish they would release this again! the makers also made crapstone villas i believe.

Relationship disasters with claymation thrown in as two people try to live with each other
exup3525 September 2006
I remember flicking through the TV channels one night and saw this, I didn't really know much about Nick Hancock or Lesley Sharp before this. It's only recently that I realised it was Lesley Sharp who starred in this after seeing her in the excellent Afterlife TV series.

Basically the plot revolves around Lesley Sharp who goes from relationship to relationship looking for a compatible partner. The filming flicks between live action to claymation throughout and a lot of the "intimate disasters" are very funny - especially with the claymation thrown in.

Nick Hancocks character is Lesleys main love interest here, and we see how they try to struggle through various mood swings, misunderstandings in the attempt to get on as they are obviously very attracted to each other, but their various emotional baggage gets in the way.

One memory of this film, is when Nick Hancock is portrayed as a green hulk like claymation figure losing his cool and shouting at Lesley, I wont give away anything here, but if its ever on TV again or you get the chance to watch it on DVD or video, it may make a good watch, especially considering how these two stars went on to bigger things.
