I was ten when I saw this on TV, probably too adult a programme for a child to watch, but by todays standards it was probably tame. It has stuck in my brain all these years as a very good serial. The villain of the piece had been sentenced to death by hanging, in an attempt to save him his partners in crime kidnapped the British Home Secretary's daughter. They issued a threat that if he hangs, the girl will hang at the same time. Unable to commute the death sentence the police have a limited time to rescue the maiden. With minutes to spare they discover the girl on the gallows in the Chamber of Horrors at Madame Tussauds in London. I remember a warning being given by the BBC as the content of the final episode is unsuitable for children, great fun.
