Caters to the early 60's sci-fi movies.
okpilak10 March 2024
This movie would be right at home as a double feature at a drive-in in the early 1960's. Even having male chauvinism on display. It starts out pseudo-documentary style, with describing a secret Pentagon program to being back Martian soil samples to harvest the microbes as a bio-weapon. In a farmhouse near Sandusky, Ohio are a couple at home watching TV. LeRoy's favorite film is on, but Eve says they never do anything together. He tells her that watching the movie is doing something together. Going upstairs, she sees a flaming streak in the sky that hits the barn, so she goes to investigate. The off course probe landed there, and she touches the broken capsule with a stick. Bad idea, and it turns her into an Amazon type woman. Bye-bye LeRoy, and to investigate that murder is her sister, who is a detective. There is not much acting skill on display, but they have energy and determination. For a low budget film, they seem to have gotten a lot of local cooperation, as they staged two large crowd scenes, and near the end got a lot of police and fire equipment on camera. There is a certain level of fun watching it, but it is not a great movie by any stretch of the imagination.

Close Encounters of the 4th Kind - Infestation from Mars
comicbookbrett18 March 2017
This movie perfectly caters to the sci-fi and horror fans of "The Blob", "The Thing" and "War Of The Worlds" while combined with the realism of a news story line in the style of Orson Welles' production of "The War Of The Worlds". OK Maybe not........

It starts as a true-life documentary style, with an introduction by the noted sci-fi actor, Col. Jim Hunt, who starred in one of the greatest "Martian Monster" sci-fi cult classics in film history over 50 years ago, entitled "Invaders From Mars".

Overall there isn't much here unless you have a thing for giant amazonian women though I did get a chuckle out of the scenes between Egocentric Muscleheaded Kremar and Bunny Kelly (Sounds like a bad comedy team) with the cheesy lines

"When are you gonna take me back" "I don't know. Probably soon..." "Aint soon enough, Im horny"

There are a variety of both noted Hollywood veteran actors such as Barbara Sharp, Lauren Powers and Kerstin Khalfani, as well as newcomers such as LaDale Harper, Chad Kresser, Tacie Willis former Mr America Anthony Kremar, Fitness Hottie Brenda Kelly, Jeff Wolff, Tom Waters, and Stacy Boals.

If you miss this you will probably be better off...

Species on zero budget

Warning: Spoilers
CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE 4TH KIND: INFESTATION FROM MARS is an indie riff on the whole SPECIES story, with an alien spore landing on Earth and infecting a random woman living in a remote farmhouse. Then, possessed by an alien, she goes on a killing spree while the authorities close in. The main actress can't act but at least she looks the part, being tall and imposing. The rest alternates between cheesy fun and intense boredom.

okay...

Warning: Spoilers
Elliot Haimoff created this splendid film, featuring biker bars, shoot-outs, Cedar Point and space aliens. The camera work of John O'Shaughnessy really makes the film shine. Unforgettable performances were given by the entire cast. Setting the film in Sandusky, Ohio and filming at locations including Cedar Point, the Lake Erie shoreline, and various sites around the lakeside town really separates this movie from all others. This movie also features the soundtrack debut of "the Sand Band" who can be overheard during one of the scenes in the movie.

You have to see this movie! There are alien/monster movies, and then there is CE4K: Infestation from Mars.

This movie is gonna be a part of history.

sci fi with dark humor
drystyx2 January 2022
Oldham, the writer and director of this sci fi bit about an alien that is a bit like the Blob of old, does a pretty good job.

The character who is infested with the "blob like" creature, retains her form, but the question is whether she also retains some of her "humanity" when her adversary turns out to be her law officer sister.

Add to that the retro salute to the Blob movie of old, with the crowded theater exodus, and a lot of "dark humor", and you have a well balanced sci fi movie.

Will it be remembered? Will it pass a test of time? It probably would if the market wasn't flooded with these movies, of which this one is in the top half, but it could get lost in the shuffle, since it isn't one of those "so bad it's good", and it isn't a "classic". I'd like to see it survive. It's a good sci fi film in an era of ridiculously terrible ones.
