Good on the console, doesn't compare to the PC game!

Warning: Spoilers
Call of Duty Finest Hour brings nothing new to the FPS genre but sheds new light on WWII. The campaigns in this game are not usually seen in movies or games. As a Russian female sniper, you'll move through the sewers of Stalingrad and upon your arrival to the surface, will defend a warehouse containing the T34 tank you will later escape on. As an African tank Sargent you will fight through Bastogne against all sorts of armor. As a British PPA commando you will demo objects of strategic importance in a German motor pool, then escape by jeep across the deserts of Africa. The rest of the time you'll be playing similar roles to those found in the other Call of Duty games, a Russian conscript thrust into Stalingrad, a Russian tank commander, and an American Sargent fighting through Germany. The campaigns stray away from the norm but are not anything extremely exciting, after playing the first games. However, if you can't play Call of Duty on the comp, this is an excellent game that stands up against even the toughest of competition, Medal of Honor Frontline. The graphics aren't mind bending or awe inspiring but they are nice enough, as is the frame rate. The sound design is great and is probably the one thing truly driving the intense feel of Finest Hour. Now, I play WWII shooters on both PS2 and PC so I know what I'm talking about and trust me, this game is very good but because not everyone feels the same, rent this game first. In Febuary 2005 Brothers in Arms comes out and this looks truly amazing so if your waiting to get one really good WWII game, wait and check Brothers in Arms out.

The best WWII game so far

Warning: Spoilers
Call of Duty: Finest Hour is indeed fine. With awesome details, a wide variety of weapons, one of the best soundtracks I have ever heard, and the always fun to use tool: the grenade, CoD Finest Hour is a game i'd recommend to anyone who wants a good FPS or is just simply fascinated with WWII. Like all of the Call of Duty games save Big Red One, this game takes you into a field unlike Medal of Honor: the ability to take control of a non-American soldier. Most of the games I have played place you as an American, but...hello, other countries were involved. Anyways, one of the reasons I like this game is because of its soundtrack and its last mission. The soundtrack is marvelous, especially the music played on the last level, and it ads to the mood of the mission, something other games fail to do. Though this game can be beaten in a day or two, switch it on hard and you will have a challenge like no other. With this said, enlist and go buy Call of Duty: Finest Hour and teach Gerry a lesson.
